Sunday afternoon, Evan and I went to the flea market in Chelsea to find something to store all our junk in…a dresser, cabinet, or whatever. As we were going into one of the booths, housed under a tent, the guy in front of me walked right into the tent and bumped his head really bad. So, being the concerned bystander that I am, I asked if he was all right and commented about the height on the tent being too low and then he turned around. I looked at him (Evan said my jaw dropped) and turned away and started giggling, not realizing how rude I was being and completely caught off guard by this guy standing before me…Robert Crumb!!! My knees started trembling and I ran away (laughing hysterically the whole way). I looked like a jackass, but it was totally unexpected…I thought he lived in France and by the way, his head was alright...i think.

About 15 min. later my dad and I went to a small place to grab some food and he was sitting like 3 tables over. We asked the waitress and she started laughing. After she said his name my dad and I both felt like idiots for not remembering.

The hotel, I can't remember which one it was was one used by a big professional football team (I can't rememer which one it was--you can see how much I follow football) They were supposed to be gone before we showed up but there was an overlap of several hours (we has the same rooms) I found myself in the elevator with this huge guy. He expected me to recognize him.
HIM: (smiles politely)
ME: (smiles politely back)
HIM: (after a long silence and glances back and forth. He kept looking at me expecting me to say something) Hi.
ME: Hi....
HIM: You don't know who I am, do you.
ME: Not a clue.... um... Good luck at the game tonight?
(elevator doors open)
HIM: (actually pleased) Thanks! Have a good weekend!
ME: You too!
This would be much more impressive if I had any fucking clue who this was. He seemed cool.
