The Parental Unit

Today my parents arrive in Chicago after having driven up from the New Orleans area. They may actually be inside the Field Museum at this moment. Jeremy and I have spent many sleepless night preparing the apartment for inspection. He even took off work yesterday to finish painting the last room. Everything looks awesome now.

Things we will do:

Today:

They will visit the Field Museum

I will meet them at their hotel after I get off work at 4pm

We will go have drinks and dinner. Perhaps at Jeremy's restaurant.

Friday:

We will shop. We will probably desengage Jeremy and my dad by lunch time and then it shall be classic mother/daughter shopping.

By 5pm we must be back at our apartment and begin preparing for the dinner party.

7pm people arrive. We have dinner on the roofdeck. Hot tub engagement optional.

Saturday:

Jeremy has band practice until 1pm. Me and the rents do a bike ride along the lake.

1pm, pick up Jeremy and shop for tents and fishing gear. Then shop for furniture.

Pick up my cousin Jessica and go to dinner in Lincoln Square

Sunday:

Whatever until 1pm, when the 'rents will come with me to rehearsal since they won't be in town for the play.

Then they leave. :-(

It always seems like such a short visit. Even before it starts.

I think if I were visiting one of my kids who lived with their s/o, I'd avoid the hot tub.

Nevertheless, I hope they have a good time. My mother used the Frabbit yours gave me for a summer Harry Potter camp.
