choosing between good and better

I just got a job teaching English here. I would be teaching 5 and 6 year old French kids and they would be adorable and they would call me "Meees Angele".

I've dreamed of living abroad *especially* on the French Riviera since I went there seven years ago and had the most amazing magical experiences of all time.

Problems:

- I just signed a lease in a wonderful place in Baltimore.
- I paid a lot to furnish the appartment fully in order to start my new life in Baltmore.
- I am about to start graduate school in Baltimore.
- I signed a 7 year contract to the Baltimore public schools.... In return they pay for my master's, and I get a nice salary while getting my master's so I can afford this wonderful single appartment.....

eh... fuck it. If I'm not a sissy, I'll go to France.

better to have two really great options than two sucky ones. Congrats, Angele! I'm sure you'll choose the best path for you.

Thanks! It's for 9 months. From October through June. It's about exactly how long I'd want to live abroad.

Go to France! Get out while you can!!!

Seriously, if you want to go to France, you should go. You can probably get out of your contract if you haven't started school yet, and you can definitely get out of the lease if you need to relocate.

Best of luck whatever you decide!@
myriam [email] said at 10:20 AM 07-13-2004:
How tight is your baltimore contract? If they let you have any leeway, then go. It is relatively easy to get English-teaching jobs in France, though, so just so you don't feel like you'll never get the chance again! Of course if you specifically want the cote azur then that does narrow it down.

sounds pretty kickass, either way. though france is kinda the chance of a lifetime, eh?
