andrew [email] said at 6:09 AM 07-07-2004: i don't know. i was mostly thinking about how it was painted. there was a giant martini glass under the catwoman part, and the letters in halle berry's name was finished when the rest of the scene wasn't.
craig [email] said at 9:54 AM 07-07-2004: I was thinking more about how capitalistic imperialism has placed this horrible actress on a pedestal and how something as provocative as catwoman has been served up to us in such a vomitizing way by forcing us to see her visgage magnified millions of times on the side of a building in midtown, or something like that.
reggie [email] said at 8:21 AM 07-07-2004: Okay, so yes this movie does look like one of the biggest mistakes in recent movie history. That being said: Amy Halle Berry is ALWAYS hot and Milky I think she's a pretty good (repeat, GOOD) actress. It's hard to tell when you she does stuff like Strictly Business and BAPS. But outside of Samuel L. Jackson the most memorable performance in Jungle Fever was Halle Berry's.
milky [email] said at 8:55 AM 07-07-2004: Yeah but Jungle Fever was a LONG time ago. I just don't think she's a good actress. Case in point, in X-Men, they wanted Angela Bassett (sp) for Storm. I would have rathered that.
There are so many more people that could do Catwoman justice.
Could you really sit through Gothika? Swordfish? A Race In the Sun? Painful, painful stuff.
myriam [email] said at 7:25 PM 07-07-2004: yeah that's pretty awesome--better than the comic zach posted, i think--similar but i think the stitches are a nice touch, since she's totally crazy.
reggie [email] said at 10:33 AM 07-07-2004: Jungle Fever was a long time ago but last I heard she did win an Oscar just last year.
Storm is a severely underwritten character in those movies. Not only has she won an Oscar but she won both a Globe and an Emmy for playing Dorothy Dandridge.
Swordfish is unwatchable whether it's with Halle Berry or a cardboard cutout. I mean Don Cheadle is in that movie and even HE couldn't save it.
Don't get me wrong, all I'm saying is that given good material she's proven that she can shine.
loren [email] said at 7:08 PM 07-07-2004: not so funny tidbit... a group of friends of mine work at what's left of ESC, the effects house that started off as Manex and did the Matrix. They worked on Catwoman. Last weekend I got an invite with the title "Catwoman Sucks Party"... they through a huge party to celebrate the finishing of the effects and the end of work on a much hated movie... and they universally thought it's the worst thing evar.
