comrade

the other day, i was walking down the street and jenn pointed.
something on the ground
just outside the lighted circle
next to the lamppost.
it was nearly the same shade as the cement
and at first she thought it was a bird carcass.
upon closer inspection, it was a tiny zombie.
i put him in my pocket.
i danced him on the table at dessert
but still a rigor mortis of gloom overpowered his wan facade.

today i found a companion for my zombie.
a limber turquoise man with bright green scales and 3 orange eyes.
he was waiting in the asphalt gutter, for me to bring him home to his resurrected comrade.

i am not sure what they are saying to each other.
i am not sure what they are saying to me.

That's pretty cool. What a weird couple of finds. I want to add a "found" section to killoggs.

for a while i was constantly finding playing cards, from different sets, on the ground in my walks. broken clocks and watches have been another constant find.

the two things i find most frequently in my wanderings are paper clips and coat hangers. i am always amazed by the number of coat hangers i stumble across. no one else i have ever met seems to have this gift.

and used condoms on the sidewalk are always a given. though i was rather surprised on the bus, the day i turned and saw an inflated, and likely used one tied to the hand rail pole next to me. like a little wind sock. bobbing with the bounces from potholes. it was tied on at eye level. but the bus was crowded and i was tired so i just leaned the other way rather than lose my seat. i should really quit being surprised by things by now.

this zombie's backside is quite purple, apparently he was lying under the street light long enough for all the blood to pool back there before the rigir mortis set in. it looks like before that he was probably glued to the hood or bumper of someone's car.

I once saw this old suburban with a HUGE yoda head stuck on the hood as an oranment. it was great. I wanted to steal it but the owner was always lurking behind lamp posts.
