Lately, I've been drinking a lot more coffee than I used to.

I guess it's understandable, since I didn't really feel the need for a nice hot cuppa java when I was living and working in Hawaii. The constantly warm weather doesn't really lend itself to coffee drinking, except when you're indoors in really freezing air conditioned air.

Maybe it's something about this quarter at school. I have classes in the morning instead of evening for this winter quarter. I'm definitely not a morning person, and have required assistance in the whole waking up process. I figured, a single cup of coffee will do me fine, I'll take it to class in my stainless steel travel mug and partake in it whilst driving and pondering over the morning's lecture. Lemme tell you, this stuff helps me big time, but it hasn't really justified itself as a bad habit or addiction yet.

Should I quit while I'm ahead?

I mean, heck, it could be worse. Caffeine isn't a bad thing to be addicted to... or is it?

Then again, being addicted to caffeine *is* a trademark of geeks everywhere. I wouldn't want to let my people down.

coffee is sweet nectar from the gods. no need to give it up unless your doctor, astrologist, or other guru-type person tells you to quit. even then you should think about it long and hard.

I'm going to haev to second that. I tend to have 2-3 cups before noon during the week. I'm pretty sure that isn't a good thing, but if lovin' coffee is bad... baby, I don't want to be right. (apologies for the horribly cheesy closing)

I work in a mathematics department, so we have a screwy variety of nationalities condensed into one location. It's a real lively group too, but there's a ton of green tea drinkers competing with the coffee standard. What's the caliber of this stuff of which you speak compared to other brands over there?

On the days I don't drink coffee, and usually weekends, I tend to drink tea. Green sometimes, but lately I've been into a Vanilla ALmond flavored black tea my girlfriend got for me. It came from a Starbucks in Barnes & Noble so I'm not sure how it compares to other teas -- it's pretty good nonetheless.

I am totally into tea. I have a cabinet full of loose leaf blacks, greens and oolongs. As much as I love tea, I love the smell of coffee, it wakes me up in the morning.

What brand of Ocha do you buy? I have a lot of asian markets around here... if I can't find it, I'll email you :)
Joey said at 12:07 PM 02-04-2003:
      Republic of Tea (www.republicoftea.com)

That's the brand I have right now. I'm sure the stuff from the Asian market is much better but this stuff IS really good. IMHO.

At least most of Republic of Tea's stuff is looseleaf... I am too much of a tea snot to use tea in bags any more.

          I completely understand --

Highland Coffee is a far drive for me now so I have to settle for bags at the moment.

People who drink coffee are something like 50% less likely to commit suicide, and if you drink 3 cups a day, rather than one, you decrease your risk of altzeimer's. Before i learned these things, I didn't have an excuse....now we do.

I think coffee drinking is the only thing keeping the cities of Portland and Seattle from commiting mass suicide.

The grey weather there puts people in a funk like I haven't seen anywhere else. When it gets like that, the populace turns into coffee swilling zombies. I think that's why i love those cities

With all the coffee and tea I drink, why is it that I can't seem to remember a damn thing?
