Wax People

A scene from Louie's...circa 1998

"Say baby,*hic*...don't I kn-know you from somewheres..*hic*"

There are caverns about 30 minutes away from San Antonio. Natural Bridge Caverns. It's no Carlsbad, but it's still fun. There are spelunking tours available that I really want to do. You get to crawl around, supervised, for four hours. We went to a small town near the caverns for dinner and I found an old postcard of a mental institution in Texas. The food was good...the antique shops were all jacked up though...overpriced. The Guadalupe River passes through and you can go tubing and stuff when the weather's warmer.

There are monster movies on all of the time on AMC. I find that refreshing. Just those really awful sci-fi and horror films. I wish they had 'The Slasher Channel' or something that only showed horror movies. It's probably end up getting watered down, like the Sci-Fi channel is now.

Being out of Baton Rouge has been the best thing that has ever happened to me, even though I have no job. It is too easy to get caught up in buying used books or CDs, and you lose track of the weekend.

I have a few questions for Nathan: 1)When did you start working out? 2)Has it given you a better sense of well-being? 3) How do I go about starting to work out? 4)Any other advice?

Watch your mailboxes this week. *wink*
I need the addresses of Nathan and anyone else who wants mail. Like, physical mail. I wanna send Nathan a postcard.

There are some caves somewhere in TN that I went to once. They are privately owned, and include an underwater lake. Apparently they have never mapped out just how far the lake goes. Anyway they have a boat that they take you out in, and the lake is stocked with fish, I think they might be trout. These fuckers are HUGE. All day long the tourists feed the fish with purina fish pellets or whatever. Anyway, the connection here is that you can get a guide to take you on the "special tour" where you get to crawl around through the places the tourists can't get to, with a guide, and then you get to sleep overnight in the cave. It was pretty sweet. Interestingly, there used to be a club in the cave during prohibition, in the room you setup your tents in. There is a Looooooong stairway to get there. The story goes that this club was there until some drunk guy fell all the way down the stairs and died.

A funny thing about the tour was this really old ex-military man who was talking about Spider-Man...he seemed to never have missed an issue, and he was raving about everything he read about the movie. Neat old guy. I don't know anyone in their mid to late 50s who knows who the hell carnage was and why it was a crappy character.

Hi Milky. I am still recovering from having my wisdom teeth removed on Monday, so I can't really give your questions enough consideration right now. I will answer them soon, however. Your postcard project sounds pretty fun. My address is: Nathan Koenig/2140 Cloverdale/BR,LA/70808
