new york on the rocks

tonight i saw a very haggard black man playing soulful tunes on an electric guitar while i was wandering around the city. he was completely engrossed in his music and everyone was walking by without even noticing him. i wanted to tell everyone "hey..stop! look.." but they couldnt see me either.

i grew up 30 minutes from the yuengling brewery. that's what we used to drink growing up, because it was so cheap, no distribution costs i guess. when i went to college, rolling rock became my favorite beer, because it was still from the state, but it was exotic or something. i still keep a 12-pack of that shit on hand.

Pretty sure it's "YING-ling" or "ING-Ling", I've heard both. Some people just call it "Ying". It's my favoritest beer I've discovered here.

josh is right, it's YING-ling. brandon claims to have never heard of it; it's awful to think that my future spouse is unfamiliar with the sweet nectar that nourished me in my youth.

on snl last night, weekend update, tina fey said something about bruce willis and his band going on a 13 city tour, and then said "tickets will still go on sale."

the one thing that sucks about new york though, at least from my limited experience, is the fact that while those 4 beer would cost around $10 elsewhere, in new york they were probably closer to $20.

the coolest bar we went to in new york was the one that used to be a pool supply store or something. i liked that bar, but $7 mixed drinks aint my style.

in the proper dives you can find $3 rolling rocks. there is a town in massachusetts my old roomie and i found that has $5 pitchers of the local microbrew...its a wonderful place. i agree tho.. new york as a whole is stupid expensive
