I just got through reading part of an interview with recently deceased film critic, Pauline Kael. The interview deals with Sam Peckinpah's movies (The Wild Bunch, Straw Dogs, etc.). She reveals parts of a letter Peckinpah wrote her, and in it he talks about Convoy. SAM PECKINPAH DIRECTED CONVOY!!! I had no idea that the same director of the aforementioned movies was responsible for such a fine piece of camp. I've only seen four of Peckinpah's movies, and I have to say Convoy is my favorite, second to Straw Dogs (maybe first, even -- I'd have to see them both again). I didn't like The Wild Bunch, and The Killer Elite was boring and cheesy (I fell asleep).

And while I'm on the subject of movies, Josh, I responded to your "predictable" complaint in your post below, in case you haven't read it.
