I've been a little angry lately....

The following is a copy of an e-mail I sent regarding a bullshit tune-up on my car:

I hope that your Precision Tune location at 40th and Broadway in Oakland, California isn't an example of the service you commonly offer, because they certainly pulled a scam on me. This marks the second time I've contacted your customer service department on this matter, and the last. When I brought my car in for service yesterday, my car was running smoothly. I was there for a basic tune-up, not because there was anything wrong with my car, only because it was simply time for a tune-up. When my car was given back to me, I immediately noticed a significant decline in its performance. As soon as I started the engine, I noticed vibrations that weren't there before. When I expressed my concern to the on-site manager, he was hostile with me, refusing to have the car examined by a mechanic and denying any responsibility. I called him today, pleading with him again to have a mechanic look at my car, but still to no avail, and I was treated with the same disrespect. In so many words, the man called me a liar, and told me that I wouldn't have brought my car in if there wasn't something wrong with it. When I asked him, "What do you think the problem is, specifically?" he answered me by saying, "It could be any number of things," but insisted it's nothing a 30,000 mile service wouldn't fix. Do you smell a rat?

I'd also like to say that I haven't received any help from customer service. I checked my answering machine at about noon (Pacific time) today to hear a message from Laurie in customer service, at extension 247. I immediately replied, only to get her answering service. So I left a message with her, and my call wasn't returned. If Laurie, at extention 247, sincerely didn't have time to return my call today, your customer service department is severely and unacceptably understaffed.

In conclusion, I've already taken my car to another business to correct the problem that I firmly believe to be Precision Tune Auto's responsibility. So I expect Precision Tune Auto to cover the $179 it is costing me to fix their mistake. And if your corporation is resistant to my demand, I'll report to the Better Business Bureau about the matter. Thank you, and have a nice day.
