The Invisible Enemy

Hey, you might recall the Star Wars short film I worked on awhile back.

You can get more info here, or just watch it.

I wonder if it's a copyright violation to use their logos and stuff. Parodies only protect you so far... I still haven't gotten to see it yet. I'll have to wait until I go back to work on Monday...

Lucas has stated that he is fine with people making fan films and using Star Wars stuff to do it.. That site the movie is on is dedicated to hosting them and I think Lucas might even own the site.. but maybe not.

I think after he fumbled the ball with the new Star Wars movie, he realized he had to do something to keep the fans happy.

Besides, I just filmed it, if they get sued its no hair off my back. It was a lot of fun to do, though.

Oh, and here's a picture of me and Evan:

Really? That's cool. I think they made it too long... The original pitch to me was it was going to be about 4 minutes and mostly jokes. I think I'd like it better that way, since I'm not a big Star Wars person. But it's still cool they/we made it. I also didn't really like the fact they made the gay Stormtrooper into a joke and had him talk with a lisp, etc... If they had managed to do something else with it, make it funnier, it would be good but as it is in the film, it just seems like the people making the movie don't like gay people.

I finally got around to watching your film. I liked the trailer a lot more than the actual film. It was timed a lot better than the film. I didn't like the gay character at all. Not that I care that there was a stereotypical gay character in it. It wasn't that at all. Gay characters can be quite funny. He just wasn't. Actually, the short was pretty bad, but I laughed out loud at the trailer. If it were a bit more ridiculous I think it would have been a lot better. More blue collar dialogue would have been good, like they talk about in Clerks. Where did you guys get the suits? I can think of a ton of funnier things to do with those suits. All in all though, I'm sick of Star Wars spoofs. I hope I never see one again. I guess it would have been fun to work on though. Then again, I guess it would have been fun to be on the set of Armageddon as well.

i wouldn't call it 'my' film. I was paid to film it; it was fun. I don't like the gay character either.

It was originally a Blair Witch/Star Wars combo spoof.

i really think it should have been shorter and funnier, but they wanted to make it more like a serious, reverant to the source material movie... Which might make it a better "fan" film, but I think lessens it's impact on the non-fans. Since I am a non-fan, that includes me.. I wonder what ultra star wars geeks think about it? Any reading this? Watch and critique.
