What you always suspected is true

Kiddo had just drifted off to sleep, letting the nipple slip out of his mouth as he rolled over to cuddle his dad. Tranquil domestic scene. I'm still awake, can't sleep, so I sit up and am about to get out of bed. Something drops from out of nowhere. A smallish black figure scurries across the blanket. Spider. Spider on my sleeping family. Oh, hell no.

I squashed him quietly, with two bare fingers. I wiped his corpse from my bedsheet with a flannel receiving blanket, and I laid him to rest in my fuckin' garbage can, because, motherfucker, you don't crawl on my family while we sleep. Because fuck you, I'm bigger than you, and this is my house.

Sleep tight, Killoggs.

finally

The biography of Lili St. Cyr is coming out soon.
7 years ago I began doing research, and I knew that if I didn't write a biography of her, that someone would, and I would be a source.
Biography writing is really hard, so I left it to a pro.
However, I did meet with Ms. Kelly DiNardo in fall of 2004, and over dinner I provided her with a list of names, and copies of magazines. I forwarded her emails I'd received over the years from aquaintences (and a drug dealer) of Lili.
Kelly contacted me today to let me know my copy of the book is on its way.
I'm excited and optimistic. I'm glad I could play a part in immortalizing this truly fascinating person.

Me 'n' Blue Morpho

Last weekend Megan and I traveled to a butterfly conservatory called Magic Wings near Deerfield, MA. It was a pretty fun experience. People were giggling like four years olds as butterflies and moths flew into their face/eyes/ears/nostrils and suckled the sweet nectar of nearby sugary fluid-soaked sponges. The bright blue ones ("Blue Morphos") were very interested in my green tshirt. Also present were quails, parrots and a few lizards. The place definitely had a weird faerie vibe, but i guess that's the point. It was a random day trip but was worth the hour or so drive. Other offbeat attractions of note are "Dr. Spooky's Animal Museum" (weird halloween themed stuffed animal gallery) and about three hundred "fossil emporiums". Also the home of the Yankee Candle.
