anyone seen this? it's a pretty excellent take on the slasher movie... leslie vernon was horribly abused by his parents, so one day he picked up a scythe and killed them... the rural town he lived in then throws him in the river to drown, but its said that he'll return to wreak his vengeance... and 20 years later he shows up with a film crew made up of film school students who want to make a documentary about him, ready to do just that.
the movie is clever because it's organized basically as if it was a "behind the scenes" featurette, explaining the tricks of the slasher trade: he makes sure all the axes, etc in the house where he plans to have a murder session are rigged so they break after one whack, he nails all the windows in the house shut, etc. when the film crew says that's not very fair he replies "hey, logistically speaking the odds are in their favor."
the acting is spotty in places, but if you are at all a fan of horror movies, i would recommend this film... it puts a really interesting spin on this specific horror genre.
