The Sad Ipod

I think my Ipod has died.

I was on the treadmill the other day and went to turn it on (after having listened to it on the train earlier) and it wouldn't come on. I reset it and got the Sad Ipod icon. "Oh, no," I thought to myself, "it can't be!"

But apparently it can.

I made an appointment to take Kharm (my ipod's name) into the Apple store and see if anything can be done. But I think I already know the answer. We go in at 12:45pm central time.

We had a good three and a half years together anyway.

Behind the Mask: the Rise of Leslie Vernon

anyone seen this? it's a pretty excellent take on the slasher movie... leslie vernon was horribly abused by his parents, so one day he picked up a scythe and killed them... the rural town he lived in then throws him in the river to drown, but its said that he'll return to wreak his vengeance... and 20 years later he shows up with a film crew made up of film school students who want to make a documentary about him, ready to do just that.

the movie is clever because it's organized basically as if it was a "behind the scenes" featurette, explaining the tricks of the slasher trade: he makes sure all the axes, etc in the house where he plans to have a murder session are rigged so they break after one whack, he nails all the windows in the house shut, etc. when the film crew says that's not very fair he replies "hey, logistically speaking the odds are in their favor."

the acting is spotty in places, but if you are at all a fan of horror movies, i would recommend this film... it puts a really interesting spin on this specific horror genre.

Replicator

My boyfriend left on tour this morning, which makes me very sad. However, his band is actually very good, despite what I said last night when I was threatening to break his fingers so he couldn't play.

You should go see them, especially if you're in the D.C. area because they don't know all that many people there and I promised that I would try to get my friends to attend the show. Feel free to introduce yourself as Mandroid's friend from Killoggs. They are all fantastic, hilarious geeky guys.

Here's there Myspace page, if you want to listen.
