I didn't feel like writing anything different so this is just a cut-n-paste from a MySpace bulletin I just posted:

So as I watched the Virginia Tech shooting and its aftermath unfold this week I began to feel a bit...helpless. I felt there was SOMEthing I should be able to do to help these kids, faculty and their families out.

Well those who know me know I LOVE making mix CD's and I think we can appreciate the healing power of music. So I figured maybe I could get everyone I know, and everyone THEY know to make mix CD's and round up a large enough collection that I could take down to Blacksburg and personally deliver to ALL of the students, ALL of the staff and their families as just a simple token of sympathy.

I also think it would be nice if each CD were accompanied by a personal greeting from its maker. I also think it would be nice (but not mandatory) if the CD's maker included an e-mail address or at least MySpace page address, just in case the recipient (whomever he/she may be) can reach you.

So if you're down send the CD's (or tapes as some people are traditionalists) to the following address and I'll take care of the rest:

Here that I wanted to keep up with: Alianated, which I missed. Hilter's Birthday, which I missed again. And for that I hope I can be forgiven. But I was talking with this girl the other night and she made the observation that there's probably not a date that lacks the birth of an evil despot. At that point, I realized that I had missed posting Hitler's birthday cake here.

So, today, I'd like to celebrate the birthday of Catherine II of Russia, who famously
died underneathagreatahorse. Why? Because I can't offer Hitler the same pallid, cold leftovers that constitute a belated birthday wish neglected two years in a row. It's not right.

Catherine, I don't really remember if you killed a Jew or many; if you stomped Catholics and their kittens; or if you drove homosexualists to their last nerves, but this horseys for you, Catherine II of Russia, in honor of Hitler, whose birthday was yesterday.
