It's been a while, and this is a few days late, but I feel like posting.

To begin, let me explain a little bit about how my day job works these days. I have a pile of expense reports to verifiy. This means I check to make sure nothing spent was not according to policy and make sure all receipts match up and are in the correct period. Then I initial it and put it in either my 'flag' pile or my 'file' pile. They hired me on as a contractor because they're really behind in this verification. I also file all of the reciepts that have been verified and I do a lot of the approvals right when we recieve reports.

There are two other girls in this section. J is our immediate supervisor and recieves anything we've flagged and eventually either approves or denies it. M basically does what I do, except she's officially hired by the company and is supposed to have a few more duties. Although I don't really know what they are.

Anyway, M is constantly late, always leaves her desk for hours for no apparent reason telling no one where she goes and is constantly filling my 'to do' box with stuff that she hasn't gotten to. Whatever. J is aware of it, so I dont' really care.

Anyway, M called in the other day saying she may not come to work. Whatever. Our boss, G told us. So J and I are looking for a certain report. She says it looks like one that I've audited because of the comments. I go through my 'flagged' pile twice and can't find it. So I start going through M's pile. About a third of the way through the stack, I see reports with my initials on them. I pull them out, there are more, lots more.

"Hey, why's my shit in her pile?" I say. "You're kidding me!" J says and runs over.

There are like 100 reports of mine in her pile. Over half of her 'finished' work consists of stuff that I have done. We show G. My pile is literally two feet higher than hers once my work is returned to it's rightful place. He says 'Thank you' and leaves.

What's been done about her stealing my work and trying to pass it off as her own?

Nothing.

I had arrived at the check-in office on the moon and I was very excited. I sat down my box of belongings and said hello to the concierge.
The halls were gray and pale yellow, but yet still splendid. I was so happy.
I was moving to the moon. Forever.
Something was wrong with earth... I knew that, but just what exactly, I couldn't tell you. You could tell me probably.
I was walking down a hall towards my new apartment on the moon, and making new aquaintences.
I came back to the concierge. "I have to do something real quick!" I said.
"Oh yeah," he sighed. "You have to move your car." He said it like he was disappointed in me.
"I'll be right back!" I promised. I wondered to myself if it was really worth it to go back down to earth and move my car just to save 25 bucks.
I didn't have much time to wonder.
My alarm startled me awake. 8:45. I don't have work today. Ah yes. You parked at a parking meter. Get up and get dressed. You know they'll be ticketing in 16 minutes.
I got dressed and went and drove my car up a block. I'm going back to sleep now, but I'm pretty sure I missed the last bus back to the moon.

so, i have been doing this de-tox cleanse diet thing.
for 12 days, i have put absolutely nothing into my body except organic, vegan food.

no caffeine, cigarettes, alcohol, processed sugar, refined oils, medicine, weed... i have even been denied the pleasure of my drug of choice, ny-quil.

the first few days i was really sick. i had horrible no-coffee headaches, lost all desire to move, have sex, or breathe, and began sneezing every 3 seconds. i had a cough and my whole body ached. i even called in sick to work one night because i was crying uncontrollably about what a mess my life has been since i returned from japan.

i have been sleeping at least 10 hours a night, deep, dreamless sleep that is all-emcompassing and silent. i also have taken a bath for an hour before the sleep-coma, and have gone to my yoga class religiously.

day 12. i woke up today feeling like god licked me.
i mean, i feel amazing! it is 20 degrees here and sleeting, and i still feel great! im losing weight, my eyes are bright, and my body is saying thank you.

and i know i sound like a stinky hippie. so what? im going to have a smoothie.

other interesting things:
steven and i no longer talk. that makes me sad. i miss his friendship so much.
im applying for jobs in chicago, new orleans, chile, peru, thailand, and kenya.
i will be at mardi gras this year, for sure.
the boy i am seeing now is wonderful.
i got a rare nina simone record for christmas. i heart it.

i know i don't post so much anymore... i hope everyone here is really, really good! i missed the secret santa this year!
