So I'm a gettin' shipped back out to Glen Burnie starting next week. I really don't wanna get into it but basically me and the GM at the Charles Village store weren't quite compatible. There are a lot of aspects of this company that keep throwin' me off and she basically doesn't have the patience to allow me the time to get comfortable.
I know you're thinking "It's a record store, how hard can it be?" Well it's not that it's hard. It's just not easy after being bounced around from store to store and seing how each one does everything differently then all of a sudden you're expected to just know how to help run a store. On top of that, from a technological standpoint this company is about twenty years behind the times. They still use a dot matrix printer for chrissakes. What sucks is that up until now I had been having a pretty good time. This is supposed to be one of the "cool" jobs in life besides movie critic and rock journalist. And up until now, at the three stores I'd been at before now it HAD been fun. But no. I had to get stuck with the one store where the other managers (well really it's just two of 'em that are like that) that take this job WAY too seriously.
So instead of allowing us to get comfortable with each other they decided to "trade" me to Glen Burnie (where they were sad to see me go and happy to have me back.)
This is kind of a drunken rambling but basically, I hate two of the managers here at Charles Village and they need to really chill out and lighten up, this job is not that important so now I'm being shipped back to Glen Burnie which is thirty minutes away from my apartment. I like the staff there and it's a really laid back store, I just wish it were within walking distance.
Oh well, what're you gonna do huh? Life ain't perfect, nahmean?
