If you didn't already know...

Star Trek: Voyager kinda sucks.
M'Lady Jen and I are working our way through season three and it's horrible.

It was at a time when Paramount and ST crews were trying to do more computer animation, and, well... it looks cheap. The ILM-style of the past two series looked professional as hell.

It's not just the look, the writing is just... shit. The continuity is horribly jagged, sort-of tying into each other as the series fumbles along. I hear it gets much much better, but man, nothing beat the last four seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

fashion stuff

So today I finally went out and got some patterns and a few yards of fabric. I chose this:

you can't exactly tell but it's so pretty and I hope it turns out like my vision.
Jo-Ann sucks so I'm going to go to some fancy fabric store this week and hopefully I can find the right ribbon trim to use.

I cut out a lot of pictures today, black and white actually, the kind of pictures I'd copy the lighting off of.
Maybe I can cheaply find some of those reading bed lamps that clip onto shelves.
When I was a kid, me and my brother had those and I'd use them for lighting in the photos I tried to take.

I saw this Juicy Couture ad in a magazine and I think it's cool. My eyes are naturally drawn to pastel colors, but I like the old ladies in this ad, and how the clothes look attractive, but the ad isn't trying to make a statement like those stupid Nike and Dove ads with "normal" women in them. I don't want to see normalass women in the pages of Harpers Bazaar.
Anyway, the ad:

Too bad those dresses aren't on their site. Not that I could afford them anyway.
Oh no, if I had 500 some-odd dollars to throw away, I'd spend it on these boots:

Somebody, somewhere, please find me a good knockoff of these boots.
