the rugged road.

Today, during my commute, I saw two amazing things.

The first was a Blatimore City bus with the whole tail end, the engine covering, I presume, dragging on the ground.

The second was a hundred feet or so of shredded tires on the beltway, leading to a large dump truck that was once carrying a load of red dirt. I saw once because the truck was laying on it's side. It had somehow fallen over in such a way that the bottom part of the bed, where the wheels and so forth are, was on one side of teh jersey barrier between sides, and the "dump" part of the truck, that holds stuff, was on the OTHER side.... dirt everywhere, traffic backed up... pretty crazy.

small things

Researching updated addresses for our mailing list, I came across this amusing tidbit

"Delphi Academy is a year-round private school of approximately 250 students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. It is located at 4490 Cornishon in La Canada, a suburb of Los Angeles, California.

While the school claims it is not affiliated with any religion, there are numerous pictures of L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, on display there, and it freely admits to being licensed by Applied Scholastics International, and to being affiliated with the Association for Better Living and Education, both of which are Scientology organizations (see http://www.scientology.org/tmnotice.htm). According to Sandee Ferman, Delphi’s Director of Admissions, 75 - 80% of its students are children of Scientologists."

So, a war-mongering coke-head

Who weaseled out of military service while most of our fathers were getting shot up in a southeast Asian jungle, just used the veto for the first and only time during his entire presidency in order to block a nominal amount of spending that could potentially save millions from undignified and torturous diseases and ailments then walks into a bar and says:

"I personally have ordered to events leading to torture, the deaths of tens of thousands of foreigners, and thousands of our troops, but this stem-cell shit just crosses a goddamn border: VETO'D!"

Sounds like a bad fucking joke.
