Koyaaniskatsi

This is a stunning documentary on the contrast between the natural world and the modern civilized one. Great score by Phillip Glass. Put it in your Netflix queue, if you're a subscriber.

Ewe Hall

Well I've been lookin' at a possible move to Baltimore as I mentioned last week. The move would, theoretically, coincide with my sister moving to the area to attend grad school. The possibility of the two of us living together has also been discussed with my fam. The "problem" is that she's attending school at some place called Westminister and she and my folks are looking at places in Reisterstown which is about halfway between Baltimore City and Westminister. I'd rather live in or much closer to the city than that.

The main reason me and my sis thought about moving in together is because we're both pretty tight and are a little fed up with dealing with roommates. It's different when your roommate is your own sibling (right Julie?) For instance, when I returned home last night I found that my current roommates had eaten most of a bag of chips I'd bought last week that I've been taking to lunch. Then when I got upstairs to the bathroom, I found my toothpaste sitting on the counter with the top off (I'm very very anal about my toothpaste and how it should be handled.)

If it had been Rachel who'd done this I would just say: "Hey, retard, you ate my chips!" but you can't really say that with roommates. Or, "Hey, fartwad, put the top back on the toothpaste!" and then we'd gone on about our day. The levels of what we'd put up with A) have already been established and B) are pretty relaxed 'cuz we're blood.

Here are the options as I see them:
1) Stay in DC, paying more for rent with more people I'll probably not like living with
2) Move to Reisterstown and be somewhat close to all the action in Baltimore but not quite in the middle of it
3) Move to Baltimore but with roommates I'll probably not like living with until...
4) ...I can save up money to find my own place.

I'm not totally opposed to #2 but it's just that it's Reisterstown. Hopefully, when whatever our current dispute with our landlord is settled maybe what I get back will go towards option 4.

We shall see...

My achin' back

This weekend Claire left for her grandparents. So I had the house to myself all weekend.
Friday night, just hung with Chris at his house not spending any money (as I am SO broke), watching Cutthroats 9 videos.

Saturday, I got up, paid for the van so I can leave for tour in two weeks. $300... bummer... chilled all day, cleaned a little and just hung out, and headed to Scotts, since his wife and son were out of town for a little PxDx hang time. Watched the Tashiki Mike Masters of Horro and drank too much. Had a hard time sleeping when I got home because of the heat.

Sunday I got up, made some Hamburger Helper with real beef (as my gf doesn't eat meat), and misread the milk and used the Vanilla soy milk... ate it anyway, fuck that I wont' be broke down (well, actually...). Triac played at the Ccas with Insect Warfare, Endless Blockade, and Iron Lung... it was SO hot, no one was there and I threw my back out. Called my dad, and Claire and headed off to a friends house to watch Sarah Silverman's Jesus is Magic... awesome... but again... I'm broke and my back hurts, so I guess I'm brokeback... bummer

This album is composed entirely of bonus tracks!

I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness is an incredible band name.

And by that I mean they have no credibility whatsoever.

But I do love the name.

Fuck, the internet makes it too easy to shop drunk. ayetyoonz

Don't feel slighted like my DS Lite did.

I am obsessed with Magnetica

And Tequila

And Tika Masala of the chicken variety

And the chicken variety of all things that come in "Chicken"

Unless it comes in "Beef" or "Miso"

BLACK HEART PROCESSON IS THE GREATEST BAND EVER [new album is great and live show is great as always]

So, I have to designate Monday nights as my designated [drunken] back-to-the-internet night of nights. Yes, my social anxiety has been relegated the necessity to drink before going on the internet. This is bad. Michael Jackson Bad. Which now means - Bad. RELEGATED, I said!

--this until football season at least, because I do have ESPN and fuck Disney for breaking the tradition at ABC but... well... I do have ESPN so, what, I'm gonna fight for the cableless dudes? No. They should go to a sports bar like normal people.

Mavericks! Not that I ever cared about Dallas or Texas but--Nowitzki! Even though he's been not playing well you just gotta love a SEVEN FOOT GERMAN in the NBA who can handle the ball, and wish he would win a title. Shaq is Shaq freak-of-nature and he'd already got rings and needs some humility and Wade is incredible--and by that i mean totally credible but a fucking freak of basketball nature too--but he could wait another year. Mavericks! Win 2 at home, Mavericks.

Sometimes I pee in the kitchen sink when Courtney's not here.

I met Killoggs Jess the other day (as opposed to the day you were thinking). She is a lovely button of vintage qualities. Warning, things are closer than they appear.
