I need to get out of DC as soon as possible. The city's worn out its welcome. I don't mean to say that it sucks here or that I hate the city. It's just that I really, desperately need an entirely new change of scenery. Nothing new here. I've made this post before.

I've mentioned Austin before and that's number one on the board. But I'm not going to limit my options to that:

  1. Atlanta - it's where I was born and I wouldn't mind returning there. I know it's a completely different city now but it might still be an interesting and positive change.

  2. Charlotte - the family reunion on my Dad's side had our family reunion in Charlotte a couple of years ago and I really felt comfortable there. I don't even really know that much about Charlotte but it might be worth at least looking at.

  3. Hopefully I can put up with this city for another year without goin' crazy.

Also, U-Turn is on and I have no idea why I'm watching it.

Ow.

On my way back to my car from the Fall Out Boy concert
(shut up, I love them. plus it was free),
through the parking lot of the mall
I found a distraught couple sitting,
and I, in my
stupid,
stupid,
childish,
stupid,
idiot ways ask,
"Is he mistreating you?"

Before I know it, the dude comes after me,
and the optimist in me thinks nothing would've happened
if I wasn't such a smart ass
and I didn't say,
"Oh shit, son, you fell!"
after
he drunkenly spilled his face onto the concrete.

But I am a smart ass,
and my smart head
got punched in couple times
and now I cannot chew
or
put on my hard hat for work,
at least,
until monday.

The people I was with did try to help me stop this dude, but we were so shocked that he came at us, that we were just frozen.

And when I was dizzy and sore, I stumbled into my mother's house and she didn't even think I was injured, and she yelled at me for going out on a weeknight- This is totally the reason I bought my own house. But I was so upset, that I lost it. I was hysterical. I tried to eat, discovering that I couldn't move my jaw. I was nauseous, hungry, crying my eyes out cause I couldn't believe that my mother was trying to discredit my injury, and feeling totally alone on this one. I called all my best friends just to hear comforting voices. I thought I had a concussion, and I had people call me every three hours just to make sure I didn't fall into eternal deep sleep.

My mom eventually came in to nurse me, and gave me a pretty good embrace.

Vegan Sushi, Mountain Music

99% of you may be too far away to come, or too punk rock to care,
but this Saturday I'm hosting a house concert for my friend and kick-ass musician Corinne West and any of you all (members or lurkers) are welcome to come. It's in Oakland, near the grand lake theater, and if you k-mail me I'll give you the details. Music is 15 bucks, but the sushi and liquor are free!

New York, New York.

Abby and I will be in New York tonight through Sunday. We will be staying with Evan and Michele.

We plan to hit up that Britney Spears statue, go to Central Park, eat pizza, go to Kim's, go to Cricket's party tomorrow, and in general hang out a bit.

If anyone wants to hang out, call me. My number is on my member profile (click my head). Sorry I won't be able to see you guys, Andrew and Nathan! Next time.

In other news, I bought an EZPass On the Go today! So today will be my first trip up where I don't have to stop for any tolls! So sweet.
