this weekends scores:

  • The Book of Insults, Ancient & Modern : An Amiable History of Insult, Invective, Imprecation & Incivility
  • Holy Fire by Bruce Sterling
  • Private Parts by Howard Stern
  • Skeleton Crew by Stephen King (for old times sake)
  • Hitler by Joachim C Fest
  • the Inhuman Condition by Clive Barker

All free at Book Thing. Abby got 19 books that are still in my trunk!

Then, Kara and I went to a huge yard sale today and I got:

  • a sealed pack of ice cube trays
  • Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective board game from the 60s or 70.
  • the Roaring 20s boardgame ("Relive the lawless days of the roaring 20s")
  • Market Madness boardgame ("takes you into the real world of the stock exchange")
  • Robin Hood for the NES
  • Super Mario/Duck Hunt for NES
  • Scrabble from the 60s or 70s.
  • 4 matching nice lowball glasses
  • 2 nice non-matching shot glasses
  • a seemingly COMPLETE beer brewing kit - missing only the barley. It comes with 3 big buckets, some tubes, a capper, some bags of stuff and various other widgets. Apparently they were selling this for $50 but then squirrels attacked! They ate the barley, so they dropped the price to $10.

All that for $20.65! Brandon & Mary and anyone else, can you give me beer-brewing tips?

Yesterday ruled, we (Kara, Abby, me) went to Lexington Market and had the best crabcakes I've ever had, then met up with Carla and Cam and went to Book Thing, then we chilled in my courtyard and Boson and his dog came to chill outside with us. Then we met up with Blake and Clair and saw Hard Candy, which I liked up until the last 15 minutes, but everyone else hated... Then the Club Charles, then to Blake and Claires to torment their dog. Today me and Kara went to that yard sale and got SMOOTHIES.

Great weekend! Now I am gonna do chores and bills and listen to music.
