HELLO NEIGHBOR

I received an envelope under my door the other day, from the HOA president of our building. Just thought I'd share it with you and solicit your opinions:

(transcribed verbatim, and name changed to protect the um, innocent)

----------

HELLO NEIGHBOR - A SURVEY

YOUR RESPONSE WILL BE MOST APPRECIATED

In Mid June of this year, I will begin soliciting our previous $35 annual voluntary fee per resident for the continuation of the program that greatly enhances the special nature oriented artistic statement that greets each of us as we enter our front door.

THE PLAN:

IN ADDITION TO THE ANNUAL
FLOWERS/PlANTS/CANDIES
AND HOLIDAY DECORATIONS
ON OUR LOBBY TABLE.

I WOULD LIKE TO BEGIN TO COLLECT CERTAIN
NATURE ORIENTED OBJECTS OF AT (at my own expense)
TO OUR FRONT LOBBY DISPLAY

These objects will range in cost between $10 and $50 each.
These objects would be displayed in the bookshelf nearest
The kitchen in the "Common Area" room.
These objects would be available to any resident of the building.
These objects could be checked out by any resident for a period Of between 2 days to 1 week.
A voluntary contribution of between $2 for two days and
A voluntary contribution of $5 a week us requested.

They would be items that you might want to "borrow" for a
Special Dinner or other occasion.

It would work as follows:
At the bottom of each item would be a 2 day or 7 day
Voluntary contribution fee of between $2 and $5

THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IS THAT OUR
COLLECTION GROWS AND THAT THE COLLECTION
STAY IN-TACT.AND THAT IT DOES NOT VANISH AS
A RESULT OF "SELFISHNESSS"

THE VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS WOULD BE
USED TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL SUCH ITEMS. Thereby
increasing our collection.

Please check one of the two survey items below and leave
It for me at the front lobby table in the enclosed envelope.

1. Yes John.......I would appreciate this fun and artistic program
2. No John.....I think this would tempt the "larcency" in some of us.

Please fill out the survey and put it in the enclosed envelope....Just leave it at the front table in the lobby.

My Fondest regards to all of you,
John

Island

Brandon asked for a post about Iceland so you must all suffer for his sins. Beside, Killoggs needs more pictures.

Iceland is by far the strangest place I have been. It is full of conflicting images everywhere you look. It is both cold and hot, friendly and hostile, independent and needy. It is always in a hurry but it is also likes to slow down. It is definitely worth the trip.

These pictures are from my trip last spring, my second here in three years - both on business and this one with my wife joining me, the first was by myself. My text is a conglomeration of both trips.

Man, this is Great!

We're all like Friendly Friends! No one is being mean! The content is cool! Why would anyone want to ruin this? Wow could we have all been so short-sighted and mean-spirited in the past. This is how Killoggs should be, all happy and like, man, "I went to this island and here are some pictures and oh, hey, I've got this problem with mucuous on my perineum, does anyone have any good advice?"

I just want to touch everyone in a comforting, validating and reassuring way!

I just wish things could be like this forever!
