Top 10 2k5
2005 was pretty uneventful, compared to the crazyass two years I had beforehand. I guess if it hadn't been, I wouldn't be long for this world.
So, for a relatively calm year, here are my top ten "adventures," in no particular order. I'm probably forgetting things:
1. Time alone in New York City
There's just something about walking around in a strange place. I was up early, and I had all day to wander, think to myself, sleep in the park, and do nothing. It was just a great day, in a way I could never convey to another person.
2. Fashion Shows
I modeled in two fashion shows this year; one in New York and one in Baltimore. Being somewhat attractive doesn't get me much in life, so it's always nice when it actually does lead to something cool.
3. Atlantic City
Watching the sun rise on the beach, walking in the rain, drinking for 12 hours. It was the closest thing to a romantic experience that I've had in a long time, but I'm now glad that it wasn't. The memory would have ended up tarnished. Memory and friendship remain intact.
4. Breakup
Not everything can be super awesome all the time. The weekend my boyfriend broke up with me, in January, I felt so lost and bereaved. I sat and watched Josh play Resident Evil, attempting to smile, but often just muttering "I'm so sad..." On the drive back to Baltimore, I suddenly started to laugh to myself, and felt lighter than air.
It went on to get more complicated, but overall the whole thing helped me a lot.
5. Barry's Wedding
I can't believe my uncle Barry finally got married. I love spending time with my cousins these days... and I loved riding in the jeep to the wedding site, as my dad and the groomsmen drank morning beers and we bounced around the hills of West Virginia.
6. The City Paper Ad
I won't get into the details of this one.
7. Elimidate Audition
I obviously bombed, but I left this thing feeling like a million bucks.
8. Champaign
I went with Jeremy and Mike Mann to go see Hum in Champaign, IL. It wasn't just about the band, though... it was about a weekend excursion. I love friends who are fun no-matter what kind of midwestern wasteland we might happen to be trucking through.
9. The Naked Guy
Weed from a homeless man.. spool table, pizza, nudity. So many elements of that night add up to a funny memory. My drunken adventures are far and few between anymore, but I'd like to thank Abby for helping me find some of them.
10. The year's not over yet...
