I ran to the Far Side wearing buckets for shoes

I was pretty sure I wasn't going to go do the thing after all,
partly because it was just one more damn thing to do,
partly because I always get twitchy at the last minute about going out alone, in costume...
and mostly because I was up late Friday dancing with Munish and Brett and Emily(?)
and then up late Saturday dancing with Munish and Lisa and Caroline,
and I haven't been up late dancing in 5 months? Half a year?
Since something Daimian was up to a little but really Burning Man last year and that's a very different scene...
The point is I had a great time both nights and didn't break my or any one else's ankles,
though I did have fun seeing old high-school people and hearing a dubious rumor about upskirt photos and calling Aaron at 5AM east coast time to leave dance-club music on his message machine...
...Then I got home and set my alarm for 6AM west coast time figuring there was no way I would actually get up after only 3 hours of sleep...

Sometimes I think that P.E. class drove me away from physical activity. Actually, I'm pretty positive that gym class was a large factor leading to my general view of people as either "athletic" or "not," myself being "not."
