... I bought a new hat at the boutique that opened up the street recently.
What do you think?
Then, as I continued on my way, I debated purchasing a Starbucks beverage. I hardly ever buy coffee items in the evening, but it sounded really good. I checked the time and decided that since I'm wasting money on hats today, I may as well reward myself with a chocolate beverage topped with whipped cream since I didn't work out this afternoon either.
So I ordered my usual obnoxious drink (GrandeVanillaSkimMochaWithWhip) and waited in line. The guy accidentally made a GrandeVanillaSkimLatte. He apologized and offered both drinks to me anyway and said I could give the Latte to someone. I took it, not knowing what I was going to do with it and saw the StreetWise lady outside the Starbucks all bundled up. I silently handed her the latte on my way out and she was SO HAPPY that I felt bad. Like I was being dishonest about my charitableness because I didn't actually PURCHASE the drink for her.
Anyway, since I'm posting, I have a question for the cat-experienced Killoggers who are still reading. Jeremy and I talked about Christmas this year and agreed that it would be cool to put a cap on how much we're going to spend on each other this year and just get some small things and perhaps buy stuff for the house instead of like ... ipods and pianos for each other.
One thing that Jeremy would really like to get rid of is the scratching post pictured below:
And as you can see the cats don't really seem all that crazy about it anyway. They'd rather use the carpet. Bastards.
So we were thinking about getting something like this:
And getting rid of the cat bed that Hedwig doesn't use anyway and the small scratching post that Jeremy thinks is an eyesore. (I think he wants to get rid of Jake's bed too, but Jake loves it too much, so I'm not going to let that happen. Perhaps I could put it on the new tree somewhere.)
The question is... would the cats use the damn fancy cat tree? I mean, the model cat above looks less than thrilled about being in that little house. I'd hate to have this huge, stupid, carpet-covered phenomenon in our house if it wasn't going to be scratched and climbed and slept on. Anyone have experience in the Fancy Cat Tree Arena?
This concludes my non-meta post.
