yelling and pointing

Before I left for Chicago, Denman told me that he suspected that there would be "a lot of yelling and pointing" in the car. He has hung out with the Lenora-and-Jess monster often, and knows us well. He was right.

I don't think we stopped laughing/yelling/pointing/flailing/roaring all the way from DC to Streetsboro, Ohio, where I finally was so tired that we randomly pulled off of the highway to sleep. (I only know the name of the town because it's on my motel receipt.)

Highlights of the trip include:
+ getting lost i n Hancock, Maryland, when we pulled off to get gas. Hancock is bookended by two enormous all-night liquor stores and features one tiny strip's worth of restaurants, including the fascinating hybrid "Tony's Italian-Mexican";
+ shortly thereafter, getting lost in some OTHER tiny town in Maryland or Pennsylvania trying to get back on the highway in which we spotted a graveyard behind a tiny church; we pulled over and investigated. The oldest grave we could find dated back to the mid-1800s;
+ getting yelled at in some random Exxon in Ohio at 2 AM for "smelling the merchandise" - we were busy being fascinated by the Halloween-themed Hostess Sno-Balls ('Glo Balls') and were poking at them and going "HEY DUDE, FEEL THIS SHIT! THIS IS NOT NATURAL!" - the old lady at the counter was not amused by our antics, nor was the old man with the oxygen mask who was keeping her company (I think?);
+ lots of finger-pointing anthemic hardcore singalongs;
+ the girl at the motel check-in desk, who was absorbed in watching some Lifetime movie - I am writing her into my book;
+ "Macabre Theater" on the Akron local cable channel (the first channel that came on when we turned on the motel tv - Josh, this is like our conversation about how when we were kids we'd stay up watching the late-night horror feature! I was so nostalgic);
+ driving through clouds in the mountains in Pennsylvania.

Ohio has not gotten any shorter or more interesting since the last time I drove through it.

Lenora and I cemented our friendship; she helped me move and I lanced a calcium deposit on the back of her ear. That's true friendship, I think.

At any rate, I am now a Chicago resident. Fucking surreal. Damon and I are about to go out and get groceries, and then I am going to actually start setting up my room.

All up in my belfry

I got laid off. And on my last day of work a bat came by the window sill—in broad daylight—to bid me farewell.

More pics in the responses and if you care to read the story behind this rare daytime bat visitation and other news, check my journal.

Is this yours?

These shirts were left at my house after various parties. They have lingered for awhile; is either of these yours?

Also, Reggie I have your hoodie.

Killoggs Klans

Let me say in advance that the premise of this post may annoy some of you,
but if you go with it I think you might enjoy yourselves.
Or you can ignore it, or you can complain about it.
Okay?

So!
With and now headed,
that makes 4 (?) members who "met" through Killoggs...
The other two being and , right?
I think that's right... So call that the Killoggs Fan Klan?
(What's the netslang for random people that show up on a website but aren't trolls?)

This made me think about other subgroups on Killoggs. Summer camp, KLSU, City Paper, lots more... In the responses, I will call out for you to represent.
