taking a run at josh s***'s DVD collection

i dont post much on killoggs but this is a fairly common/appropriate topic round these parts so here you go. today i very suddenly became consumed with the notion of owning any and every DVD i could think of that i wanted. usually i buy 2 or 3 DVDs at a time when it occurs to me that i want something and i leave it at that, putting everything else i coudl think of on a (killoggs!) list (note to self: make another post polling killoggs members for all their lists. i love the lists feature! i have become utterly dependent on it). anyway, i never could justify spending more money than that at one time on DVDs, which, incidentally, are really the only superfluous material consumables i regularly spend money on. most of my money goes towards general merryment and food and living. i dont really accrue "stuff" anymore. except movies still.

so today was a lazy sunday and i spent all day brainstorming DVDs i wanted, jumping off from my existing killoggs list. i went to deepdiscountdvd.com first, comparing every find iwth amazon.com and building two shopping carts. amazon was used for the rare cheaper-than-dddvd.com find or items that dddvd.comm didnt have at all. THEN when i was getting close to finalizing my purchases, i got yet another email from the relentless columbiahouse, begging me to rejoin. i indulged my curiosity and started searching for items on my list adn i filled up their queue of 6 free no shipping DVDs in no time. so fuck, i just knocked 6 of the more expensive items out of my amazon and dddvd shopping carts, and then i submitted them all in sequence

here's the final list. discuss!

alllll clear!

Not sure if you have all heard, but Astroworld is closing it's doors this year. SixFlag has been in dire financial straights and with the stadium across the way they think they can sell Astrowold as prime real estate (Astrosell).

I think I'm going to try and go one last time this Saturday to ride my favorite ride "Greezed Lightnin'", I've been riding that with my wife for over 6 years and she won't be able to go because of the kids in her belly.

http://www.sixflagshouston.com is a great site to check out all the old rides, old promos, etc. It's weird when staples of your childhood go away, I'm sure for many Louisiana natives like myself this was the only summer vacation. I even finger banged a girl on the Bamboo Shoot!

What was your favorite ride?

Wild Dogs in New Orleans:

A pair of marauding pit bulls emerged from the edge of the bayou beyond New Orleans as the floods receded. Bred as fighting animals, their bloodlust had been sharpened by starvation. The dogs, which were wearing collars, had survived for more than two weeks but food was scarce.

The two pit bulls take turns attacking the bull They stalked towards their prey, a lone bull: a massive beast more than 10 times their combined weight. Like a wrestling tag team, the bitch and the dog attacked with awesome ferocity, leaping at the bull's head and latching on to its muzzle.

The stricken bull repeatedly shook the dogs off, flinging them up to 15 feet in the air. But they took turns to keep up the attack, exhausting the bull which was by now smeared with blood. Even after the bull trampled the bitch, leaving it dazed, the dog stepped up its attack.

The terrifying assault highlighted the US military's concern that pit bulls would form packs and could attack or even kill soldiers.

It was too dangerous for an unarmed witness to intervene but The Sunday Telegraph flagged down a National Guard truck. Seeing what was happening, a soldier shot the bitch in the head.

The dog paused before resuming the attack. It took two bullets to stop it dead.

Whoa!

my inverts

Here are some things that I have killed recently:

Today I managed to preserve two slugs with their eyes sticking out, which not only grants me extra-credit, but provides me with an extra slug with which I might conduct trade on the Invertebrate Biology black market for rare specimens that I am lacking. I'm totally kicking the asses of spineless things, assuming that they are cephalized and actually have asses.

Killoggs Meetup at Jacques-Imo's Benefit in NYC

I had a wonderful time hanging out with Kiche and Laura, and also her friends, Elliott and Deborah. My friend Sean and I had so much fun!! I am sure Jacques-Imo's made so much money for New Orleans and I just won't forget that crazy line when we first got there!!! I have some fun pictures in the replies.

Yay!!

Again, Laura, great idea!!!
