artsy fartsy

I've been away from art for awhile, but I think that I'm going to force myself to start messing around with photocollage/montage again. I'd like to combine digital manipulations with more mechanically produced collage. Anyway, here's some silly prototypes for the digital half taken at school this week:

If anyone has ideas for final presentation or et cetera, please suggest neato things for me to explore. This is mostly a casual project I'm taking up so I don't go insane this winter.

Halloween Countdown

The end of October is nigh! And I'm sure we on Killoggs (because as everyone knows we are all cool people despite our vast internet-orientated social life) all have parties to go to for Halloween. What are you going to be! I want to hear everyone bragging about their cool ideas and awesome execution!

Or are you running around last minute trying to get shit together?

NOLA BOOKFAIR and and and and

if you are in the new orleans area this weekend, drop in on the bookfair and related events. hot iron press will be slinging at the fair on saturday with zines and artists' books and records and comics and toys and stuff- Barrister's Gallery 1724 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. (formerly Dryades) near Felicity. it should be fun.

i'm not sure if zack will be there, but he has been in the past. if he's lame and doesn't come, we'll have some of his comics to fill the void. we'll also have some of ben's new comics and brad's new zine. hooray. there's also some rock and art and parties and readings that you can find out about from the official nola bookfair site. Additionally, art openings and lectures abound because of the international sculpture center conference here this weekend.
