The Dresden Dolls

I saw this duo perform at The Black Cat (DC) tonight. I had no idea what to expect, but my friend described them to me as "punk rock caberet," and I'd say that's a pretty fair description. They were amazing. It was pretty powerful sound coming from a girl on piano with a strong voice and a guy on drums. And they did a great cover of "War Pigs." If they come to your area, see them.

why i am voting for kerry

after four years in office, to say the bush presidency has been a colossal failure is an understatement.

his incompetence is so amazing, the errors he has made are so terrible that conspiracy theories abound explaining how his failures are actually brilliant maneuvers in disguise. weapons of mass destruction in iraq? i could have told you there weren't any before we invaded. but bush, who had access to far more information than myself, was completely convinced that sadam hussein had an advanced nuclear program. even when presented with cold hard evidence that sadam hussein's iraq had been crippled to the point of impotence, mr bush continued to believe that iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction.

we presently aren't able to export much oil from iraq due to the growing insurgency. anyone with even a casual familiarity with the middle east could have told you that u.s. occupation of an islamic country would lead to an enormous and bloody insurrection. but the bush administration was genuinely surprised that there was any resistance to our military.

in fact, before the war bush believed that we would not incur any serious casualties in the entire iraq debacle.

when mr bush was confronted with the fact that there was a growing insurgency during the summer of last year his response was not to commit more troops and money to iraq, it was to tell militant islamists to "bring it on", daring them to murder more u.s. military personnel. most of the money that has been dedicated to rebuilding iraq has stagnated in the united states. george w bush's iraq policy can be seen by anyone with an internet connection. all you have to do is download a video of the latest beheading of an american civilian in iraq on any of the myriad of web sites run by militant islamic terrorist organizations that have sprung up under his administration.

george w bush's incompetence is so incredible it defies logic. he has managed to make mistakes and failed in ways that prior to his election I would have told you were not possible for a u.s. president. mr bush dragging us into war over nonexistent weapons of mass destruction in iraq is possibly the biggest u.s. intelligence failure in the past 50 years. his inability to convince the u.n. or even the majority of our close allies to follow us into war defies belief. the waste of the surplus on tax returns for wealthy corporations in a failed attempt to jump start the economy almost four years ago was unbelievable. in fact, the entire economy has completely reversed under mr bush, where he inherited a surplus there is now a deficit. this is just another fine example how mr. bush takes gold and turns it into dirt. his only excuse is to blame the results of all his mistakes on his predecessor, bill clinton.

bush isn't even good at covering up his incompetence. every time he opens his mouth he says things that would be unintentionaly funny if he wasn't the leader of the free world.

in my opinion, bush’s biggest failure was allowing osama bin laden to escape. refocusing our nation’s search for osama bin laden to an unnecessary war in iraq has been mr. bush’s biggest mistake. many people will say that osama bin laden is dead. but if that is the case, then why has the pakistani government been under tremendous pressure these past few months to capture bin laden? why has the capture of bin laden only become a priority since the beginning of election season? it seems mr bush only sees bin laden as a nuisance to his re-election campaign. perhaps mr. bush should have focused on capturing bin laden these past three years instead of adventuring in iraq.

if george w bush is re-elected i fully expect america to be blown to kingdom come by militant islamists.

george w bush is tells us that "the terrorists are listening" whenever his many foreign policy failures come up in the media. yes, mr. bush, the terrorists are listening, and here is what they are hearing from you:

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts, 3/13/02

it is not that difficult to envision members of islamic jihad with bombs strapped to themselves giving each other hi-fives after seeing this on al-jazeera.

karl rove and dick cheney cannot protect you from al quaeda.

donald rumsfeld's leadership can be summed up in two words, abu ghraib.

this past week we found another frightening failure. it seems that 380 tons of explosives have gone missing from an ammo dump in iraq. the white house assures us that they are investigating. i don't know about you, but i don't feel any better know that george w bush world keystone cop is on the case. i have a suggestion for one place for him to begin his search for the explosives, though. he should look for the residue of some of those explosives in the ieds and carbombs that have splattered the remains of our soldiers and iraqi civilians all over downtown baghdad.

and this doesn't even scratch the surface, the true legacy of the bush administration will be the increase of nuclear proliferation among third world governments with psychotic leaders. the unstable and untrustworthy states of iran and north korea have advanced their nuclear programs to a frightening extent under the negligent watch of george w bush. in the past four years the possibility of a nuclear strike on american soil has grown more likely than in the previous decade.

i would like to hear from anyone, anyone at all, who seriously believes that the terrorist threat and the situation in iraq can be corrected by these losers:

if you have any patriotic sentiment at all or love america and freedom then i suggest that you vote for john kerry on november 2nd.

Josh's kids think he sucks.

I was looking for ninja movies when I came across this.
The movie is only mildly entertaining, but the real reason for
watching it is for the special cameo by Josh's head.

Why I am Voting for Bush

After long months of thinking about it, I've decided to vote for Bush, here are some of my reasons:

Bush totally kicks ass by wailing on Arabs with flying boners.

Bush, even though he's Baptist, loves the JEWS. Seriously, he LOVES Israel - that's called tolerance. Tolerance is a modern virtue.

Bush twangs when he speaks Spanish. Speaking Spanish is important. Speaking Spanish with a twag is goddurn adorable, I love this guy.

Bush has put in place officials, Michael Powell John Ashcroft, who are decidedly ANTI-BREASTS. Breasts are not welcome or needed in my America!

Bush teaches by example. He's so wise that he was like, you know, people are never going to learn that tax and spend is a bad idea unless they are overpowered financially by enormous amounts of taxing and spending. He was so concerned about Democratic political aspirations, that he was like, look, I'm going to tax the fuck out of the middle class and expand the government for the first time since my daddy so that you will learn never to do this again.

Bush, has read his Emerson, or maybe it was another one of those transmagoradontalists. Again, teaching by negative example, he changes his mind so goddamn much, no other politician can look on his own reverses and compare, I mean, he doesn't so much flip or flop as much as he spins like a gyroscope that always seeking the center of that red, plastic base, where ever you may move it.

Bush has definitely headlined, rung the alarm bell, and mandated, and also spearheaded the movement to get our professional atheletes off of steroids. Jesus Christ, I had forgotten what it was like to walk down the street without being accosted by a Sammy or a A.Rod, looking for that quick fix of ball-shrinker.

Bush is the man to get in there and 1) de-regulate work-place environments 2) pour the arsenic back in our drinking water. 3) Roll back Roe V. Wade (There's a reason England banned abortion back in 1803. White people, who are having all the abortions, need to start having more babies, before we all have to learn Spanish and how to cook empanadas).

Also, I'm going to be moving into a middle-management position pretty soon, and BUSH is the guy to make sure that I'm given the right kind of pay structure for the right kind of work. I don't want my over-time pay, unless I am in a position that truly deserves it.

Sometimes, they say, it takes an outsider to make an organization run better. Take, for instance, our military. Here's our President, who, by some standards, has about as much military experience as I do, and look what he's done for our troops. He truly has the finesse to actualize their potential with panache. You can take that to the bank.

Sticker that say "W: The President." Holy shit, they're right, and he should remain so.

I assure you, Iran and South Korea will be dealt with. Iraq was a massive bluff, a call, to see if they WOULD develop weapons of mass destruction. You see, otherwise, we wouldn't have know and we might have ended up invading two countries pre-emptively by mistake. Now we know better. And we owe it all to W.

He's compassionate and he's a conservative.

Dick "Bring the Noise" Cheney. Did you see the way he handled Edwards? It was decisive. I like decisiveness, like, when he was Secretary of Defense or whatever, and he was like "oh, no, you crazy military planners and spenders. Less is more. How we gonna pay Halliburton, if you insist on buying these weapons programs."

Robert "Drop them bombers low, we got's to scrap us some Viet-dong" McNamara told me to vote for Bush. Then he produced some actuarial tables showing me why doing so made sense to the economists at Harvard, who would never admit that publicly, those damn liberal, them.

Andrew Sullivan will not be voting for Bush. And that makes me glad, because voting for anything or anyone that a homosexual would vote for is stupid and also wrong.

Which brings me to my final point. It is morally wrong and a dirty, low-down, peevish thing to vote against a sitting President. Like your mother, he's given 4 years of his life for your ease and comfort. How can you be so ungrateful? How could you? You wouldn't do that to your mother would you? Her breasts sustained you when you were young. Invisible, shrouded breasts that keep America strong.

VOTE BUSH 2004.

let them eat scissors

teaching a classroom of 3 year olds is like catering a party of pirahnas.
it is also like sticking your hand in a blender and letting a blind person toy with the toggle switch.
it is also like eating fugu and hoping your cook was well-trained.

but, it is also insanely, suprisingly, happy sometimes.
and that gives me the fucking creeps.
because it means their mind-control is working.
suddenly, i am in class and one will say "kaasheeee sensei, kore?"
and i think thats cute
and it scares me.

does anyone share my opinion that children are evil and not to be trusted?

Space-Crotch

Woo! Got my Space Ghost costume in the mail today! Yeah!

It's a little big in the upper body area. I can deal with that. The cape can hide the lack of muscles and the belt draws attention away from the gut.

The crotch area is a little funny. Sort of a little too tight. Not uncomfortable tight. Showy tight. Need to figure out what to do with that. Or I could wear the cape in the front. But then I won't be able to see through that side of the hood.

Oh...and there's no zipper or hole in the suit. So if I need to piss, I'll have to get out of the suit. Going to need an elaborate tubing system...or a sidekick .... Brak...zorak...where art thou?

So, what's everybody else dressing up as on Halloween?
