Riot Grrrls and the Mountains who love them

I visited Mt. St. Helens a couple of weeks ago and took some pictures along the way.

Here's a picture from Olympia. I wonder if the band Sleater Kinney ate at this Jack In The Box before attending church?

Midget Passing

Ok, so Pedro has officially lost his mind. He is so loco-latin rich that he has a midget he brings into the clubhouse for good luck and passes around whenever the Sox win. Seriously.

This prompts the question: Would you like a good luck midget? If so, after which activities would you pass him around?

For example:

Judge: All rise. Mr. Foreman (not George) what find you?

Jury Foreman: We find the defendant not guilty.

*cheers. midget passed around defense table into jury box. jubulation.*

Smile Like You Mean It

I've been really digging this song recently.

Smile Like You Mean It
by The Killers

Save some face, you know you've only got one
Change your ways while you're young
Boy, one day you'll be a man
Oh girl, he'll help you understand
Smile like you mean it
Smile like you mean it

Looking back at sunsets on the Eastside
We lost track of the time
Dreams aren't what they used to be
Some things sat by so carelessly

Smile like you mean it
Smile like you mean it

And someone is calling my name
From the back of the restaurant
And someone is playing a game
In the house that I grew up in
And someone will drive her around
Down the same streets that I did
On the same streets that I did

Smile like you mean it
Smile like you mean it
Smile like you mean it
Smile like you mean it

Oh no, oh no no no
Oh no, oh no no no

robbed by nerds

At some point yesterday evening, a mysterious someone(s) stole all of the cash out of my dad's and my wallets, which were in our respective cars. My car was in the garage and the little (I assume they are little because it further supports my seething hatred of both children and midgets, and I can't imagine anyone else would steal cash but be stupid enough to leave credit cards or my CDs, though this theory excludes the likelihood of midgets...) bastard(s) stole my last $17 from me. They took a whopping $1 from my dad.

Tonight, I thought to check online to see when my library books are due and renew them if necessary. I went to my wallet to find that my library card was missing.

I cannot believe that I was robbed by nerds. They probably took the $20 to buy the new THUg 2 that I should be buying and then went to the Green Bay Public Library and ckecked out a plethora of nerd literature under my name that they will never return. It's a good thing I didn't have any Robert Jordan books in my car.

Damn the children. Damn the nerdlings to hell.

All is forgiven

Mr. Buckner, you may show your face in the northeast again.

Cogratulations, Boston. 86 years is a long freakin' time.
