I guess I should keep making stuff.

I had a great time at Crafty Bastards. It was a pretty stressful time getting ready for it, but it felt very good to be so productive after such a long period of slack. I sold a few zines and a good handful of t-shirts. I'm sure I would have sold considerably more had I gotten there on time, but I was 3 and 1/2 hours late (I had to sleep). I regret that I didn't have time to walk around and look at everyone else's things. I saw one of the much talked about tampon dolls at a table across from me (charming). Ben did very well with his sales and made all the girls swoon. Huddo's awesome band, The Aquarium played, but I couldn't leave my table to watch them, and the sound didn't travel too well to my end of the lot. Thanks to anyone who supported me, and I still have plenty of leftovers for anyone interested (I'll post images of the prints later). Today (Sunday), I did something I hadn't done for the whole 2 months prior to Crafty Bastards: RELAX.

I have no idea how I am going to afford it yet, but I am thinking I will take a week or two of vacation during either Winter or Spring Break, because if I do not do this I will most likely end up murderously insane. Perhaps I will ask for vacation money for Christmas (a holiday I am hoping to escape from attending on the familial front) or do some temping or try a short stint as an escort or a stripper. At any rate, I need suggestions of places to go and people to visit. Why should I come visit you and/or your particular locale? What will we do for entertainment?

Also, I should reiterate that Meredith and I will be doing Halloween weekend in Chicago and you should join us in the fun if you can locate cheap airfare/drive. I am not sure what Meredith is going to be, but I will be going as Enid from "Ghost World":

NEW! DAVID! E! VEHICLE!

It's...shocking but...even after all these years I...still can't stand Nimoy.

All these...Priceline commercials where he's upstaging me...
I can't cope!
I'm going nucking futz!
I've got to...find a new outlet...a new show...a new character...
...a new voice...a new cadence!

Maybe with a hot, smart looking brunette...
...and some B-list actor with an emmy and surgery enhanced cheeks,
reprising a johnny-come-lately character from a long running show...

That gorgeous gob of goyische from Keen Eddie ...
...and a hotter, dumber looking, exotic brunette...

Something like...

AWW YEAH! TAKE THAT NIMOY!!
HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT SPOOGE IN YOUR FACE, SPOCK BOY?
HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW THAT I'M ALL UP WITH DAVID E. KELLEY!?!

Blindupdate

NYC fashion week began at the Knitting Factory where Anna's friends, Snack Truck, made Circle Takes the Square sound like a weeniemobile.

Put together some IKEA sculptures:

Saw "A Dirty Shame" with Mr. Kiche. It was pretty amazing - a long and unusual freak show,a total first day of puberty fantasy. Tracy Ullman is such an improbable celebrity. The soundtrack was incredible enough with backwards alphabet songs and scary childrens' church songs.

Next time, yer fired.

This morning, I was hit with the threat of "I should fire you."

They wanted to fire me at the beginning of september,
and didn't- they probably didn't want to pay a good unemployment check since they said "we can't afford to have you around with your type of performance." and when I asked what I had done wrong, they couldn't tell me at all.

This morning,
I was late,
and my supervisor was like,
"I can't have this, and I'm supposed to fire you."
I was honest and said, "Well, you should!"
My supervisor was uneasy, "Uhhhh... I don't know..."
"I would if I were you."
"I mean, we'll talk about this later."

Should I try to get fired, and collect unemployment?
Is it true that you can't get a bad recommendation(or something like that)?

Holy crap!?!

Sunday afternoon, Evan and I went to the flea market in Chelsea to find something to store all our junk in…a dresser, cabinet, or whatever. As we were going into one of the booths, housed under a tent, the guy in front of me walked right into the tent and bumped his head really bad. So, being the concerned bystander that I am, I asked if he was all right and commented about the height on the tent being too low and then he turned around. I looked at him (Evan said my jaw dropped) and turned away and started giggling, not realizing how rude I was being and completely caught off guard by this guy standing before me…Robert Crumb!!! My knees started trembling and I ran away (laughing hysterically the whole way). I looked like a jackass, but it was totally unexpected…I thought he lived in France and by the way, his head was alright...i think.
