Ahhh.....
So!
Crafty Bastards was a success. The rain stayed away for the most part and it had an excellent turn out. The Carpio Family Soap Company did very well and we raked in more than I had expected!! Also, my little marble & bottlecap magnets sold like hotcakes (sold out!) and that felt GREAT because I really didn't think anyone was going to pay them any mind. Being around all that creative energy was so totally inspiring. Compliments on the goods didn't hurt either. Much thanks to Julie and Angele and anyone else who reads this for buying (whatever you happened to buy). Your patronage is much appreciated. Thank you, come again!
Highlights of today included:
-The RADTACULAR silkscreened Crispin Glover t-shirt I got from Daisy's vendor. I can't help but gaze at my shirt in the mirror, beaming with Crispin pride.
-Lunch with Erica NM, her parents, and my sis. They have cute NY accents. Her dad shares my birthday and totally rules. He tells a mean story and likes cool movies!
-Overhearing the surreal conversation between my mom and
Ian Svenonius about cults and shape shifting reptiles.
-Some eerily posi dude telling me that my little magnets were "the greatest thing I've seen today!" He was probably full of shit but it's totally ear candy anyway.
Despite the fun, it was still a day of work and I am very exhausted. I am so glad I participated because this gave me the validation I needed to believe that what I make is decent enough to sell, and shouldn't be afraid of doing so.
