GOD, GUNS AND GUTS....

MADE AMERICA FREE!

At least according to one of the best belt buckles on my new favorite website, www.buckles4fun.com, a site devoted to selling the most amazing and elaborate selection of pewter belt buckles.

Here are afew of my favorite belt buckle sayings, I purchased one....and I'll reveal it later when I post the awesome picture of me wearing it!

-"Insert coin, unzip, shake well. Guarenteed action. Internal use only" (The belt looks like a coin slot and I reccommended it to Kara, until she pointed out that for some reason it is shaped like a turd)
-"I will give up my gun when they pry my cold dead fingers from it" (Exquisite rifle belt)
-"Truck drivers move the nation" (Simple statement, but the belt is awesome with two huge trucks with a--you guessed it--american flag in the middle)
-"Coon hunter" (This belt has a HUGE COON on it! HUGE!)
-"U.S NAVY Anytime, baby" ( I like this because it doesn't really make sense to me)
-"Sworn to fun, loyal to none" (says it all.)
-"Dazzle 'em with brilliance, or Baffle e'm with bullshit" (What more can I say?)

In general, the massive array of unicorns, sparkling american flags, and hunting symbols makes my year. There's belt buckles for every occasion, and every occupation. There's even one that says "Lineman" and it is a picture of a dude falling off of a powerline. If you can't already tell I'm ridiculously excited and have already said too much. Don't take my word for it. Check it out yourself.

I know it's a long shot

But I'm desperate. Does anyone have any experience exporting entries from Greymatter and into Movable Type?

My site got blogspammed the other night, and it kinda freaked out. I managed to get it back working, mostly kinda sorta. But I'd been thinking about switching to MT anyway, and MT isn't as susceptible to blogspam, so I uploaded it. Loren, who is my hero, fixed whatever I'd screwed up in the install, so I've got it configured and running now.

The instructions for importing entries from GM were easy to follow, and I did what they said, but it comes out all a mess. Instead of all my entries and comments being individual entries each grouped with its own comments, it shows up as one entry with 700+ comments. I'm not finding a lot of help via Google, so I was just wonderin' if anybody out there's encountered a similar situation.

okay. changes:

1. the "view responses" link is gone. it's now merged into the text which said how many responses there were, which makes more sense anyway.

2. now, there are < and > signs around the "link" link on each post. the < takes you to the last post by that person, the > takes you to th enext post by that person. "link" is a permanent link to that post, as always.

3. the catagory name is also a link, which takes you to the most recent posts in that category. there are similar < and > signs here. they work the same way except they take you to last post in theis category and next post in this category. incidentally, posts with no category now show up as category "post".

4. the name of the poster in the "posted by ________" block of text now links to that poster's profile.

5. the fonts and sizes have been made uniform in this text block, before it was a mishmash of sizes and fonts.

i think thats all so far, give me feedback.

I GOT THE COMIC!!!

yes! this is pretty amazing.

so, starting "when I'm ready to start it", I'll have a weekly comic running in the City Paper (One that's not an Advertising for anything - thank GOD!)....

***********

Also, I'm about to have new comic books / zines / buttons / t-shirts finished (for the first time in like 5 years)!

1) Badly Drawn Comic Journal - Volume One: comic journal from this summer is 160 badly drawn panels long (and is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever made). Online version will go up here in a week or two. Each panel will be respondable, and there will be a bunch of other features. I'll post a link to a page where you can buy the print version if you like once I finish it.

2) Designs for Things I'll Never Make: a zine I've been drawing off and on for the last couple years. It's just page after page of designs for things I wish existed. I have made some of them, others I plan on making, still others would cost a fortune to make, and some are just plain retarded. But they're all pretty awesome. Will be finished with this sometime next week and will also be for sale...

3) A Dumb Little Book About Love: (mini comic) - in the same format as such other "classics" as A Dumb Little Book About Pacman, A Dumb Little Book About Art, A Dumb Little Book About Heavy Metal, A Dumb Little Book About Smurfs, A Dumb Little Book About Dumb Little Books, Hatred is Not a Family Value Volumes 1-3, and 28 Things I Never Want to Hear Again... (all of which will also be available again)

* no plans to reproduce any of the Corner of the Room books as of yet....

I'm also making shirts, but I haven't decided on designs yet. Made a ton of buttons tho...

Whatever is left after Crafty Bastards, I'll try to sell here (hopefully I won't get lazy and I'll keep making stuff)

eventually:

- FAPPY book
- online comic journal
- comic journal volume 2
- weekly comic
