I was trying to put a new harddrive in a guy's PowerMac G4 when a cow-orker comes in and asks me to drive him to the hospital. That was at 3:30. I just got home past midnight. It's incredible how long they make you wait considering that you're intentionally going to the emergency ward and not an after-hours clinic.
Hopefully Rick's still driving me to the New Orleans airport at 8am on Friday. I still haven't started packing and don't have everything I need here. It's funny how every time I think I have things will work out, major problems come up and I'm racing at the last minute to re-gain my bearings.
tonight joshua sisk called me at around 1 am to tell me 'hey, i'm on my way to visions.'
unfortunately, 10 minutes earlier i had left visions to go home because they were closing due to lack of patrons. i managed to convince josh and andy reid to come to my house to watch movies. josh insisted time and time again that he is not drunk and that andy, who'd had 1 beer, was the drunk one in this case. they arrived to my house and after some conversation, i was able to convince josh to give me head. errr, rather, a head.
peering over his shoulder while he bitched about not knowing how to SSH, i found terminal for him and, alas, am now beheaded. headed.
so what's up dudes. i am erica. i am a recent district transplant. i used to/still sort of run disaster.nu in a lackluster fashion. i enjoy discussion of boners, whiskey and horror movies. and also bikes - especially single speed.
josh just said "i love you erica."
my life is full of love.
... I went to see the Clancy Six at the Ottobar. I was instantly greeted by Denny, Megan, Rick and Tracy's wife Flo with beer in a van in the parking lot. After a few sketchy characters came and peered in the windows, we became creeped out and headed inside where the rest of Clancy was in the process of reducing themselves to a slurring, drooling mess. After a few more free drinks, they went on and sounded great, especially considering their state.
There was about 40 people in the place and I think more than half were there to see Clancy, so there were a lot of familiar faces. I made some plans to start playing guitar with Matt Papich but that will probably never come to fruition.
Denny's friend Erin showed up and we all went to the Rendezvous down the street. Erin was pretty good at making sure I became as drunk as possible. She was also pretty good at walking out of view and coming back with whatever skank she could get her hands on with the promise of "A cute boy with a huge cock". It's kind of scary how effective this was. I spent the next hour trying to make a dog masseuse and crazy-eyed fat woman who claimed to make a living impersonating Tom Waits disinterested in me. Erin left abruptly, leaving Denny and I twiddling our thumbs on a street corner before deciding to go to my house and smoke weed and go to sleep. I also managed to squeeze in a call to Kara on the way home because at the moment I was sure she'd be the only person awake.
I don't really remember the rest of the night, but Denny is still sleeping and sweating on my couch. It was great to see him and get a chance to talk like old times, though I wish he'd get up and leave so I could get about my normal morning routines. Asshole.
Out of the ruins
Out from the wreckage
Canīt make the same mistake this time
We are the children
The last generation
We are the ones they left behind
And i wonder when we are ever going to change
Living under the fear ītill nothing else remains
We donīt need another hero
We donīt need to know the way home
All we want is life beyond thunderdome
Looking for something we can rely on
Thereīs got to be something better out there:
Love and compassion
That day is coming
All else are castles in the air
And i wonder when we are ever going to change
Living under the fear ītill nothing else remains
All the children say:
We donīt need another hero...
So, what do we do withour lives?
Will our story shine like a light?
