Bloooooogggggggssss

I think I am going to start a blog where I write only about music.
I don't really know a lot about music, which sucks considering how much I like to talk and think about it... I always compare myself to the knowledgeable gang at Reptilian. I could ask Chris embarrasingly ignorant questions every day. Then again, I guess I could school him in 1920s jazz... I'm just too all over the place.
Maybe that's exactly why I'm doing it... so I can learn more and get more suggestions from people, more input. I'm not just reviewing the new, I'm interpreting the old through my own ears.
I don't know why I'm mentioning this here...
maybe just for suggestions what I should do with it?
I with I knew how to lay it out better with a better links section, and maybe comments? I like this format... but I'm clueless about that stuff. I guess I'm clueless about a lot of stuff.
Everyone should really give Carla's Mix Tape Scavenger Hunt a shot!!

For Michael

Greetings Killoggians, I am nearly done with creating a movie and music review blog called Chatterwocky that I would love for you guys to participate in. I know that Josh is planning to institute these as sections on Killoggs, but this site is specifically only for that, and is also non-member-based, and so I think that the two can exist in harmony, maybe even feed into each other down the road if that’s possible. Anyway, my hope is that a fair amount of the Killoggs people participate, but I have a bunch of other friends who would do it too, in Colorado and California. I think that the diversity that exists between these different groups would lead to some pretty compelling discussions (at least it wouldn't be all Metal - no offense Sonny). The idea is that one post would be created per movie or music event (can be DVD, new movie, concert, album, bootleg, whatever), then unlimited responses, which should be pretty interesting over the life of the post as you would think that people would revisit months and years later, moreso anyway than the discussion posts on Killoggs. I've put a lot of work into the graphical and functional elements of the site, so I think it will be pretty cool.

Anyway, most of the coding is done, but I don't have a logo - ergo, the Chatterwocky logo contest. My friend Aija (who some of you may remember as being the manager at Chelsea's back in the mid-90's) drew a logo (which is at chatterwocky.com right now) - however, I'm looking for something more colorful for the final version. The theme is right - something Carroll-related is a must. Prize? Once the logo is complete and the site up, I will create a Chatterwocky t-shirt and send it to you. I will also procure for you a West-coast themed souvenir of your choice - Lakers hat, Alcatraz magnet, whatever (within reason. If it takes me more than 4 hours or $100 to get, I can't do it).

Thanks. Any help would be appreciated, and I do hope that many of you will participate on the site once it's complete.

Michael

When Children Watch Too Many Horror Movies

Rachel: something really weird is happening here
me: where?
Rachel: home
me: what do you mean?
Rachel: there are about 10 cop cars positioned around our block. one is blocking the intersection at 3rd and Bryant
Rachel: none of the neighbors seem to know what's going on
me: but not *in* our home
Rachel: no
Rachel: relax
me: did you ever see poltergeist?
Rachel: no

***
The image that came into my mind when Rachel said something "weird" was going on at home was those dead bodies popping up in the yard in "Poltergeist." Then I pictured blood pouring out of the walls in the stairs going down to the basement. That's more "Amityville Horror."
