company parties
Amazingly beautiful resort in Santa Barbara, small room w/bar and dance floor.
I drank 3 glasses of kalua and cream, so yummy in addition to the thick mousse cake.
One of my coworkers dressed as an elf and VP dressed as Mrs. Clause, giving out gifts for the raffle. The elf and santa were drunk and cracking jokes on the mike as they impersonated people in the company and handed out the raffle prizes as everyone ate dessert. Bob Dick, a guy who used to be a safety regulator for transportation of nuclear weapons, did a hillarious one-act slightly making fun of the company (resource scheduling defense contractors) by playing the role of a suit salesman selling an "optimized" suit that is too long, too wide at the knees, and large in the rear, because 90% of the time the wearer will be sitting. Seeing him walking around stage in funny ways to compensate for the suit's strange measurements was hillarious. The two CPAs got oversized get out of jail free cards. My boss got a toy SUV because he got a misdemeaner for shooting paintguns on school property (considered a firearm and BIG trouble) and always has difficulty renting cars for the company. Dancefloor was very fun, hadn't danced with coworkers before. Our dates were gorgeous (read: HOT), and so was the daughter of Lena Garcia, one of the company's PHDs, and they were all incredibly skilled dancers. I'm sure I embarrased myself by doing a handstand on the front of the stage at the start of YMCA; it was all about embarrasing yourself at this party, I swear. Are all company parties are like that?
