this weekend.

Friday, Erica and I went to Baltimore and hung out with Kara. We ate Thai food and watched Badlands.

Saturday I cleaned up some, getting ready for the show. A Sordid Affair, Mykado, Carrion and Anodyne all played at our house. The show was a lot of fun. A Sordid Affair showed up and put up posters of the face of one of the members, who was also wearing a tshirt with his face on it. They were of the "annoying rock" genre, and got old sort of fast. Mykado were metal-y, but I liked them even though I'm not to into most new metal. They were really nice, too. They left right after they played though, I hope no one offended them.

Carrion were good, they played a little long maybe, though. I'm used to bands that have two minute songs, so I'm not the best judge. They have a sort of a sludge metal sound, except the singer makes these weird faces when he sings, like a nerd rock type thing.

Anodyne were really great, unfortunately very few people stuck around for them. The turned off all the lights and just used a flashlight. They are nice guys as well, and told us lots of funny stories.

In the morning, Buzz took us to eat at the 94th Aero Squadron. They had a buffet of crabs and salmon and brie and a guy who made us omelettes and really everything else you can imagine. We stuffed ourselves, Buzz told us crazy stories. Eventually we went home, hung out with Anodyne, saw them off and then slept.

Kara came over, became Ben's agent, we made a poster and some funny sound files. Then we went to get angele from the metro which resulte din her trying to get picked up by an indian man at a pizzeria. But that's a story for another day.

All in the family

Sometimes I forget that me and my two half sisters are really related. I never get to see them and when I do it's usually pretty brief. However, after visiting them Saturday to see my new little brother (who is totally cute in that gross-troll like newborn way) I noticed all the little things that make me aware that we're definately sisters.

It's the endearing way Gigi (who is 9) answered Kevin's question in a belch just the way I often do causing him to roll his eyes in disgust.

It's our atrociously cheesy sense of humor. When Gigi said she was going out of the room to get something, Gabby (who is 7) said "Let me come with you. It's a walk to remember. Take note, if you're not laughing at that joke (if it can even be classified as such)- it's totally okay because it's a really bad joke. What makes it funny is that I've been known to make jokes just as bad- all of which result in Kevin rolling his eyes in disgust.

It's the way Gaby spastically danced around on the floor and did bumps and grinds all over the place while singing bizzarre made up songs- just the way I did when I was little and well....still do to this day.

It's the way Gaby jumped on Kevin's back and started dry humping it for some reason. I kicked her off there immediately and asked her what on earth she was doing to which she replied "I wanted him to be my horsey!" Suuuure, kiddo. That's exactly what I say to the arm of my couch before I go at it. I just wanted it to be my horsey.

I swear us Carpio sisters are certainly something else.

Wax People

A scene from Louie's...circa 1998

"Say baby,*hic*...don't I kn-know you from somewheres..*hic*"

There are caverns about 30 minutes away from San Antonio. Natural Bridge Caverns. It's no Carlsbad, but it's still fun. There are spelunking tours available that I really want to do. You get to crawl around, supervised, for four hours. We went to a small town near the caverns for dinner and I found an old postcard of a mental institution in Texas. The food was good...the antique shops were all jacked up though...overpriced. The Guadalupe River passes through and you can go tubing and stuff when the weather's warmer.

There are monster movies on all of the time on AMC. I find that refreshing. Just those really awful sci-fi and horror films. I wish they had 'The Slasher Channel' or something that only showed horror movies. It's probably end up getting watered down, like the Sci-Fi channel is now.

Being out of Baton Rouge has been the best thing that has ever happened to me, even though I have no job. It is too easy to get caught up in buying used books or CDs, and you lose track of the weekend.

I have a few questions for Nathan: 1)When did you start working out? 2)Has it given you a better sense of well-being? 3) How do I go about starting to work out? 4)Any other advice?

Watch your mailboxes this week. *wink*
I need the addresses of Nathan and anyone else who wants mail. Like, physical mail. I wanna send Nathan a postcard.

Skeletons

I lost my job today because of my felony conviction which occured seven years ago. I feel as if violence has been done to me.

class reunion

at least our heads will never age. sorry to the people whose heads got cut off in the scans. i can't fix it. sorry also if you're in the wrong spot, blame josh. i was bored today after work. i'm sure there are more productive things for me to do with my time. i couldn't decide whether to mail the sketchbook page this is on to ben or josh, with a ransom note or some faux blood, or to post it. posting it was easier.

why can't this be love?

for the past week or so i've been covertly downloading van halen mp3s. i don't know why, i have just felt the urge for some vh goodness.

i worked from home this afternoon, and because that allows for many ways to slack, i'm working late. i just went out to the garage in search of my old comm law textbook for this article i'm writing, and, and, and....

in the garage i found copies of van halen, ou812, 5150, for unlawful carnal knowledge [TWO copies], and balance.

what a stunning coincidence, brilliant discovery, i am happy happy. yay!
