Judas Priest Conceptual Album

Okay, Okay, I know that this could and maybe should technically be news, BUT it is just too good and there is such little information - it kind of feels like a dream. Actually a friend of mine who is the world's biggest Judas Priest fan told me about this.

He said he woke up one morning and told his wife that he had the best dream; that Judas Priest had a new album coming out and that this album will be theatrically staged and performed in it's entirety! He said he read about it the night before in a drunken haze and couldn't actually remember if it was a dream or not so he went on the Judas Priest website and read this in the news section:

"Judas Priest are creating their first conceptual album based upon the life and predictions of Nostradamus!

This album will be theatrically staged and performed in its entirity as an epic musical by Judas Priest!

More news later!!"

Typos and everything!

IT WASN'T A DREAM!!!

But I guess we'll have to wait for more news later.... All this waiting is killing me!

See for yourself.

(I STILL don't know how to create links in a post. Chuck tried to teach me but it was beyond my understanding to read it in his email.) Sorry guys!

My new obsession...

Okay, so I'm totally obsessed with this new drum beat. I know it sounds weird. An example for you drum nerds out there, this beat can be heard on track 3 & 4 on this album...

&

on track 10 on this album

If you ain't got these yet, it is time.
DMZ = amazing! for real!
any fans out there of these bands? This stuff is a pretty recent discovery of mine.

Anyone recommend some new tunes for me in a similar vein...?

As it so happens, my crush is in a band & the drummer does a similar beat... you can hear it here... coming soon to the Black Cat!

Furry Creatures in NOLA...

My dear friend Kelly who is from Atlanta has been in New Orleans since 2003 (I believe I have the date right) but she is an AVID lover of all furry creatures and is actively working to help save the abandoned and stray animals who are on the streets in NOLA. I will repost her myspace post cause this is germane to some of you all on here. Maybe someone else has ideas too!...

http://www.operation-save-a-pet.com

I have been helping out with animal rescue efforts to sustain the estimated 3,000 domesticated cats and dogs roaming the streets of NOLA until the trappers come. We have mapped off the city and attend to feeding stations at least once a week. There are trappers on the ground as well as a spay neuter mobile van, which is currently sterilizing the cats and releasing them back because there is no where to put them.

The other day the City Attorney released a cease and desist order commanding us to stop feeding the animals. I agree that there are potential public health concerns attendant to the operation, but I cannot accept putting an end to the effort. Also, there are a LOT of politics going on down here. The order was no doubt issued at the behest of the LA/SPCA (who are currently NOT trapping and do not agree with the feeding program).

There are simply too many animals still out there, and many of them are starving. One field volunteer told me about coming up on a yard with 12 dead cats--they had survived Katrina but starved to death.

I am posting to see if you might have any ideas for me to incorporate in a response to the City Attorney. I would like to present a case for why the operation is valuable and will succeed. Does it really make good sense to just let the survivors starve?

Do you know of any similar efforts in other disasters?

Do you have any insight into how we can reconcile the feeding program with the public health concerns?

Is there a humane, effective, and affordable way to control the rats?

Would you be willing to voice your concerns directly to the City Attorney?

Thanks Ya'll
xoxo
Kelly

Adoption...

So, some of you on here know me and a little about me, but not everyone. I think it's a fine time to do a little disclosure and let ya'll know something about me...

I bet once you read the topic of this post and how i'm about to drop some information on you all, you would think i'm gonna tell you that I'm adopted. Nope. sorry kids. I'm not adopted.

But, my point here, I live in DC and I'm studying to become a mental health counselor. I want to work with adults of all kinds, but I also happen to know sign language so I can work with deaf people as well. I'm almost done with my masters, I have basically 3 or so classes and a year long internship working as a counseling intern at an office in Baltimore which serves only deaf and hard of hearing people who are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol.

Again, I got off on a tangent. I'm taking a class about adoption this semester and I have to interview someone who is part of an adoption "triad,"; the child, the adopted parents or the biological parent(s). or, as it says on my syllabus, "...a social worker in the field of adoption, a policy maker or legislator, a book author, or an administrator of an adoption agency, service or program. "

Killoggs has quite a wide audience and I know someone out there is a part of an adoption in some way, shape, or form. I would love to interview you for class.

Please email me here on Killoggs and let's talk!!!

Thank you kindly for your time!

xoxo

Parking lot!!! Whoo hoo!

So some of you may already know about my love for weird videos and I have to say that seeing Heavy Metal Parking Lot for the first time in like 2000 was what did it for me. My dear friend Jason Griffin showed me HMPL and the Dancing Outlaw (a must see for those of you who haven't).

well Jeff Krulik went on to bigger and better things like "Neil Diamond Parking Lot" and several others.

Then this satellite channel called TRIO started showing "Parking Lot." I was lucky enough to catch a marathon at Chuck's house in Ohio on Turkey Day of 2004 & it was amazing! It's not Krulik doing the interviews but it's still good.

But anything ultra cool and too hip for most of the ass-hats out there fades into oblivion, which TRIO did. BUT I just learned that the channel has been resurrected from the grave and has become a broadband channel. now we can watch all the parking lots that we want!! All the time. not to mention that TRIO shows all kinds of neato documentaries and stuff.

I love you TRIO. and parking lot.

de autobahn

so um, this is my first post ever, but I think it's a good time to post. Partyline has been playing the Netherlands and Germany and I am the only person who can drive a stick in the band and I have been driving this SWEET new car called a ford Mondeo.... but that's not the best part.... the best part is that I am driving this SWEET new rental car on the autobahn & I took the car to 200 kmph..... do you know what that means!?!?!? I drove 125 mph on the fucking autobahn!

it was amazing. the beautiful thing is that people in Germany know how to drive. no one cuts you off. no one stays in the left lane. people who drive slower get the fuck out of your way. when there is no speed limit - yeah they have to have one from time to time - the average speed we did was 160 kmph = 100 mph.

It's been amazing. oh yeah, the shows have been good as well. the Netherlands and Germany RULE!
