New Orleans bound

Hi Killoggs, long time no post. I'm heading to New Orleans on thursday and was reminded by our dear internet father Josh that a bunch of y'all live there and whatnot. I've got 3 nights there with a couple friends and no agenda. What's good? I've been to NO once, about 6 years ago, and remember nothing specific besides the Dixie Cup/Club/Cafe/something rock club with $1 red dogs (do they even make red dog beer anymore)? And Harrahs, where my cab dropped me off by accident at 5am drunk out of my mind, and I proceeded to drop $100 in blackjack. This time around, the same thing will probably happen except it will be in the poker room and on purpose.

So what would you do with 3 days and no particular aversion to touristy stuff if its actually halfway good? Like are there actually sweet graveyard or swamp tours? Or stuff to walk around and find? Good bars/restaurants/jazz clubs (on or away from Bourbon street)? Feel like hanging out with a friend of Josh and Ben's you've never met or even talked to on the internets?

Montreal

Anyone here been to montreal? got any advice, places to go, etc etc?? i'm going this weekend for a bachelor party and only have two nights, one of which will be spent watching the montreal canadiens take on the colorado avalance, the other (or both) most likely in a strip club of some sort, as well as some gambling in between.

any advice would be sweet!

taking a run at josh s***'s DVD collection

i dont post much on killoggs but this is a fairly common/appropriate topic round these parts so here you go. today i very suddenly became consumed with the notion of owning any and every DVD i could think of that i wanted. usually i buy 2 or 3 DVDs at a time when it occurs to me that i want something and i leave it at that, putting everything else i coudl think of on a (killoggs!) list (note to self: make another post polling killoggs members for all their lists. i love the lists feature! i have become utterly dependent on it). anyway, i never could justify spending more money than that at one time on DVDs, which, incidentally, are really the only superfluous material consumables i regularly spend money on. most of my money goes towards general merryment and food and living. i dont really accrue "stuff" anymore. except movies still.

so today was a lazy sunday and i spent all day brainstorming DVDs i wanted, jumping off from my existing killoggs list. i went to deepdiscountdvd.com first, comparing every find iwth amazon.com and building two shopping carts. amazon was used for the rare cheaper-than-dddvd.com find or items that dddvd.comm didnt have at all. THEN when i was getting close to finalizing my purchases, i got yet another email from the relentless columbiahouse, begging me to rejoin. i indulged my curiosity and started searching for items on my list adn i filled up their queue of 6 free no shipping DVDs in no time. so fuck, i just knocked 6 of the more expensive items out of my amazon and dddvd shopping carts, and then i submitted them all in sequence

here's the final list. discuss!

deepdiscountdvd
----------
simpsons 5
simpsons 6

black sabbath never say die
dick tracy

black sabbath vol 1
black sabbath muskcadil
alien

columbia house
--------------

raging bull

shaun of the dead
terminator 2

ladies and gentlemen of killoggs

your posting world frightens and confuses me. sometimes when i'm reading a thread and i think i am reading the most recent response, i realize the one on the bottom is not necesserily the most recent one and it makes me want to log off and run for the bco, or something. i dont know! my primative mind cant grasp these threaded concepts. but there is one thing i do know - ive been linked to too many threads on here to not check this place out at least once a day now so here i am. hi
