I didn't get one. I'm over the stupid income cap or whatever. Garbage.
art [email] said at 10:31 AM 07-30-2008:
yeah - that is why it switched from being a tax refund to an 'economic stimulus'
art [email] said at 10:30 AM 07-30-2008:
You should have... But I am not sure they have mailed all of them out yet.

Also, if you didn't file a return, you won't see a check
andrew [email] said at 11:07 AM 07-30-2008:
i got a frisbee and some balloons
julie [email] said at 11:22 AM 07-30-2008:
Yep. They sent me a letter warning me it was coming, then they sent it, then they sent a letter telling me they sent it.
kiche [email] said at 11:58 AM 07-30-2008:
i have yet to see any stimulus check.

i thought they were only for married people with kids, the eldery and veterans or something like that.
julie [email] said at 1:14 PM 07-30-2008:
I am married to an elderly veteran who is also my kid.
amanda [email] said at 11:06 PM 07-30-2008:
No, they're for everyone who makes over $3K to Bibbly's income. Even my dead great aunt got one! It was addressed to "Bernice Smith, deceased." I have no clue how she will choose to stimulate the economy from beyond the grave.
amanda [email] said at 11:11 PM 07-30-2008:
My boyfriend also got one, but since he owes money to the IRS from a few years back, they called it an "overpayment" and "as a courtesy" credited it to his outstanding balance.
myriam [email] said at 1:35 PM 07-30-2008:
I got mine in May, but I do direct deposit, which is usually insanely fast. (I guess there's one decent thing about the IRS after all...)
chuck [email] said at 2:34 PM 07-30-2008:
I received the 'it's on the way' letter as well. Then I got what looked like a check but was another letter stating that they used the money to pay delinquent taxes from 2002 or 2003. Didn't recall that I owed. My co-homeowner (girlfriend) got her direct deposit in the first wave and we bought power tools to speed up renovations.

This will tell you when to expect it.

Last two SSN digits: Payments will be mailed no later than (and received a few days after):
00 through 09 May 16
10 through 18 May 23
19 through 25
May 30
26 through 38 June 6
39 through 51 June 13
52 through 63 June 20
64 through 75 June 27
76 through 87 July 4
88 through 99 July 11

People who filed a return on or close to April 15 should have received their payment regardless of the above schedule if at least eight weeks have passed since the return was filed.

According to this I should have received mine around June 27th. That makes it a month late. I never got any communications saying I wasn't getting one.
brandon [email] said at 4:57 PM 07-30-2008:
They have an online tool here:

That allows you to check on your status. If you'd rather call the national number is:

I do what I can. I learned government documents from a pro. Also, if you go to the IRS page, it's like the second or third link ;)
meredith [email] said at 9:08 AM 07-31-2008:
I tried the online thing. They said they had 'no specific' information on me and that I probably filled out one of the three blanks incorrectly. Asshole buck passers.
meredith [email] said at 12:01 PM 07-31-2008:
        The number is disconnected.
carla [email] said at 7:50 PM 07-30-2008:
Same thing happened to me Meredith! It was due June 27th, still havent gotten it! So I called them (them being whatever number I found to bug them about where it is) and get this- they hadn't even processed them yet and said "call back in a month". So whenever (if ever) I happen to see that money, it's going to be a long while. Call them! Something might have happened!
milky [email] said at 8:30 PM 07-30-2008:
Yeah. Two advance letters then a check.
meredith [email] said at 6:51 PM 08-25-2008:
I got advance letter number one today!! Woo hooo!!! Hilariously, if this comes when they say it will, I'm going to be using it all in France.
kara [email] said at 11:04 AM 07-31-2008:
yeah i got it
anthony [email] said at 1:48 PM 07-31-2008:
Look at all the whiners on here. "I need $600 from the government. WAHHH"

Maybe instead of looking for a handout from the government, ya'll should be getting JOBS!
julie [email] said at 11:12 PM 08-06-2008:
I got a job AND a handout, thank you. But technically it's an advance against my own money, so... eh.
ed [email] said at 11:05 PM 08-06-2008:
I didn't. I kinda haven't filed my taxes yet. Shh!
