TPB are my Heroes.

Last night, at 9:44PM, just as someone was joining someone else on the roof (and a third party was leaving to find a needed object)... I lost my satellite signal. Thunderstorm. About a half hour later, my signal returned.

So I missed the last 15 minutes of Heroes. I will admit, I cursed a little bit. But not much. I knew I'd be able to download it this morning. And I am. In about 3 hours, I'll be able to see what I missed.

PS - Did the product placement bother anyone else? I mean, I never really paid attention to it last year, but it became super-obvious right off the bat this year. You-know-who (no, not Voldemort!) gets a "Rogue" as a birthday present. I was like, WTF is a Rogue? First commercial break? THREE CONSECUTIVE ADS for the new Nissan Rogue. Blech. Then it made me think about how many times last season they mentioned the Nissan Versa specifically by make and model. I guess it's all part of how things are done these days. That sponsorship money pays for all kinds of cool special effects, I'm sure. But it still sucks to be slapped in the face with it that badly.

Try to think of it as your favorite, trusted storytellers giving you a heads up on the shit that isn't made well enough to sell itself.

Well, there was a nice healthy dose of WTF...

I have no clue what's going on, but at least I'm up-to-date now.

Reflecting further, I did remember that the last season I attempted to watch 24 (I don't remember which season it was... 4, maybe?) was the year Ford bought a stake in the show, and it was very similar to this week's episode of Heroes. It was "brought to you with limited commercial interruption" and the ONLY ads that weren't for the sponsor were for other shows on the network. And EVERY vehicle in that episode was one of the sponsor's.

I haven't watched much TV in the interim, but what I have watched (LOST) isn't really one in which they can do a whole lot of product placement. Thank goodness!
