The director was clearly pandering to the latino crowd after his success with Napoleon Dynamite. I thought the movie was going to be at least more than just what was shown in the trailer, but instead the trailer pretty much summed up the entire movie.

I went into it thinking it might be a little more "hard edged" not knowing that nickelodeon produced it and it was a PG movie. It' actually not that bad if you take it as a "kids" movie.

Pandering suggests that you feel the latinos have poor taste or lower intelligence. tis fucked up

No the actual definition of Pander is to cater to the lower tastes and desires of others or exploit their weaknesses. The director of Napoleon Dynamite was like "Oh, shit, this rip off of Slow-Poke Rodriquez is pushing my so-so movie really hard in the latino market, I must make an entire movie involving mexicans for my next movie!"

I saw it personally in California. Napoleon Dynamite played forever in the theaters with mainly the latino youth revisting the theaters with the "Vote for Pedro" t-shirts; they went for Pedro, not the dynamite.

oh i think the reason why you disliked it is you meant to see Nacho Libre... Naco Libre is one of those cheap mexican immiations.

i wanted to stab myself halfway through the movie...and i was on a date so saw it for free. i have always said that comedies are not my favorite things, and this movie just sealed the fucking deal for me.
