our military at work.

Yesterday, part of 95 was blocked off. At rush hour. This caused a major traffic snarl. When I finally got up there, finally able to see what the big deal was, I saw the following:

I could see a bunch of those bigass army trucks (that haul big army stuff) had pulled over to the shoulder (but, of course. they are too big for the shoulder, so they had put out cones and blocked off one lane). The army guys were all swarming around one jeep, and looked unhappy.

Then a guy in camo shorts came running out of a civilian looking car, smiling and waving... a Rand McNally Road Atlas.

Our tax dollars at work.

Maybe it was a realtime, urban orientation exercise? Huh, did any of you blame-America first types even stop to think about that possibility? Today's military has to be prepared to operate in all kinds of environments, including urban rush-hour traffic.

I never realized how anti-military this blog is. Every time you even hear the word military, much less see a service member in uniform, we ought to take a great deep breath and say this short like prayer:

"Let Freedom Come"
