Sounds like a lot of fun. But, sorry, I can't really do that right now. I'm booked up for this week. So booked up, in fact, I've had to turn down other offers for similar ventures. Plus, I'm neither witty nor funny, merely profane. Won't you people leave me alone?

I'm sure that Ben/Cecil/Amanda/Meredith/Kara/Josh"your pussy is no good" or someone else could definitely compete. But not Jake, definitely not Jake, or that other Jew, what's her face... the ass-y one who draws alot.

i've never heard of this site before - am i in the dark, or is that normal?
jake [email] said at 10:38 AM 02-21-2006:
Ooh! Ooh! Another for Chris' list!

It's the fallacy of the excluded middle!
josh [email] said at 10:43 AM 02-21-2006:
      what?

I'm asking - is this a well-known site? Or an unknown site that is just trying to advertise itself with this contest.
jake [email] said at 10:56 AM 02-21-2006:
There you go again, excluding the middle.

Maybe it is a well-known site, and they're trying to further advertise it.

Maybe you are in the dark, and maybe that is normal.
josh [email] said at 10:57 AM 02-21-2006:
So is this a well known site or not?
josh [email] said at 10:58 AM 02-21-2006:
Also, it's amazing how annoying you are, even in response to a simple question.
jake [email] said at 11:04 AM 02-21-2006:
            Oooh! Ad Hominem!

Seriously, Josh, you can be just as pendantic.
Look them up on alexa for starters, and I dunno, googlefight them against killoggs after that. Is Technorati good for this sort of thing?

Seriously, why not just wait for Noah to answer your question, instead of getting hung up on my obviously-not-serious response?
josh [email] said at 11:08 AM 02-21-2006:
why do i need to wait for noah? if i was asking him exclusively i'd have sent him an email.

thanks for the alexa link, i forgot which site di dthat ranking stuff... so they seem to not be a huge site, so i guess they are just trying to build themselves up. that's all i was asking. the way their press release or whatever was worded, it made it sound like everyone should already know about this contest and about the site, but i had never heard of them.
jake [email] said at 11:11 AM 02-21-2006:
They could be really widely known in certain circles, right? My take is that they're pretty popular in their area, but not a widespread thing. Check and see if they've been slashdotted.

But yeah, I think they're self-promotions are hype. The videos from the last competition are pretty funny.
kara [email] said at 11:12 AM 02-21-2006:
                good marketing tactic
josh [email] said at 11:13 AM 02-21-2006:
yeah that's why i wasn't sure - i don't keep up with that many sites so i wanted to know if others had/hadn't heard of this one. i only look at like 6 web sites.
ed [email] said at 8:43 AM 02-22-2006:
I read lots and lots of blogs - from personal friends to hugely popular sites like Dooce - and have never heard of this site or this challenge... or the "world famous" winner of last year's contest.
noah [email] said at 11:23 AM 02-21-2006:
Josh, urbanhonking is just a site that aggregates a bunch of blogs from a group of friends. Three dudes on there started this silly contest last year that snowballed. It got a decent amount of press even from BBC Radio, but it is just a tight circle out of Portland.

Who knows, it may blow up this time. They're some funny guys.
