I can at least tell you what to do while you're in Shreveport. That's a half hour from where I grew up.

They both sound freaking horrible. I've been to Shreveport. Horrible. Never been to Sapulpa. Sounds horrible. Maybe call in sick?
art [email] said at 2:43 PM 01-24-2006:
exactly! That's the problem. I can usually dodge crappy trips, but it looks like I stuck with one of these.

Hey, aren't you in Denver right now? I might be coming on Sunday for a few days. Perhaps I can finally track you down and kill you in your sleep...
rick [email] said at 3:42 PM 01-24-2006:
There is a punk club in Shreveport. I have never even heard of Sapulpa.
art [email] said at 3:53 PM 01-24-2006:
It's near Tulsa, which I have been to, and having been there once is enough for me for many, many lifetimes
brandon [email] said at 3:54 PM 01-24-2006:
I already told you my thoughts on Shreveport. It might be a tad bit warmer there.
Randy said at 7:02 PM 01-24-2006:
There is no reason for anyone to go to Shreveport ever.

The food in ANY part of louisiana has GOT to be better than the food in oklahoma!

...not that i've been to either place, but y'know, based on hearsay alone
art [email] said at 7:22 PM 01-24-2006:
    That's something i'm definately considering
rick [email] said at 9:07 PM 01-24-2006:
I believe in the documentary Hamburger America there is a hamburger joint in Oklahoma that makes its hamburgers out of actual longhorn meat. I don't know if that makes them taste better though.

If you go to Shreveport and do not mind driving about two hours to the Southeast, you could go to the Lea's Lunchroom that I talk about in my journal entry "Fly by night/ A Local Legend"

        is that the pie place?

I'm all about taking ridiculously long side trips wherever I travel to. This sounds like it might be a good one.

I used to always travel to North Bend to Twede's Cafe to get a greasy meal and their famous Twin Peaks Cherry Pie whenever I went to Seattle. But since a fire wiped out the place (probably from the grease on the upholstery spontaneously combusting) and their subsequent hideous remodeling to faux 1950s Pepsi decor I've not gone back.

a short drive from shreveport is the town where bonnie and clyde robbed their last bank. i was stuck there (arcadia) for work for a few weeks. i think i made a few posts about it. to date, there are no posts about anyones experience in sapulpa. go boldly where no killoggers have gone before!

Hey Mary,
If your friend here is not too much of a psycho, you should give him my contact info.

Shreveport is not such a bad place these days, you just have to know where to look. But there is no punk club.

Also, I still read Killoggs.

Find out which city has the better Applebees or Chilis, cause that's about all you'll be doing if you go to Sleezeport for sure.
art [email] said at 3:02 PM 01-27-2006:
It's gonna be Sapulpa. I'm taking anotherben's advice to go where no killogger has gone before. Plus no one here could recommend Shreveport (not even a little)

Plus Sapulpa is smack dab on Old Route 66 so there has to be something to see, even if it is nothing.

I'll take pictures.

Damn, I really feel like taking a roadtrip. Montreal, here I come!
