So there you have it. All are unmasked. Just so everyone knows, just because you haven't recieved your present yet doesn't necessarily mean that you have been gyped. Lots of people e-mailed me saying they were going to be late for one reason or another. I have not recieved my present either and I am not worried. I'll let the santa's defend themselves in the responses if they desire. Also, feel free to thank your santa in the responses as well so that they'll know you liked your present.

XO
Kaiser Santa

My Secret Santa rocked my world!

My Secret Santa did me right also. What is crazy, is that in "Pistols and Politics" I am pretty sure I recognized a friend-of-the-family's kinfolk discussed. I asked my dad about him and he told me that that family had been described diplomatically as "rough."

I also got The Secret Voice and Welcome to the Fallen Paradise (although I have yet to read the last one).

Sam Hyde who is mentioned as being assassinated in the book is my great-great-great grandfather.

Thanks for the awesome books. The Krakauer has been on my list for a while, and I've just finished it.

The art work was nice too, and has a place of honor on the fridge...

Sorry about the marker; I couldn't find my coloured pencils.

The last part of Under the Banner of Heaven with the account of the prosecution's case against Lafferty and the interview with Lafferty is among the most effective scribblingss I have ever read against the Faith.

I bought Craig's gift but have not mailed it, because I am lame. It is a good gift, though. Will put it in the mail next week.
kaycee [email] said at 11:09 AM 01-03-2006:
hang in there myriam... we are slow over here with our mail!
myriam [email] said at 7:12 PM 01-20-2006:
    I finally got it!!!!

I never looked at this post till now, because I knew it was "in the mail" and didn't want to spoil the surprise of who it was coming from. So. Thank you!!!!!

I love it! The seaweed smells awesome. I will probably make it on a cold night soon.

Also, I got a friend to translate the "do not disturb" magnet (she said it was a friendly, polite way of saying it, which made me realize how commanding and kind of pointed our version is), but I still don't know what the little doll head is for? He's cute! Is there any significance to him?

    So. Thanks again!!

I'm just wondering how this Brian fella got on my porch last night without my dog going nuts!
brandonA [email] said at 12:22 PM 01-03-2006:
cecil, cecil, cecil.

what can I say?

I'm sorry.

All I can plead is busy holiday + mucho traveling. I have the components for your gift, I just need to get it all together and send it.

You haven't been gypped, unless you count missing out on the full secret santa experience.

regards and apologies,
brandonA
cecil [email] said at 4:12 PM 01-03-2006:
No problem, Mr A. Just let me know when the truck will arrive so I can make sure my loading dock is clear.
brandon [email] said at 12:37 PM 01-03-2006:
Awesome, Courtney, thanks a lot. I harassed Kara thinking it was her, because the Hello-Kitty card threw me off. You also have very similar printing styles.

Courtney sent me Robert Hamburger's book "Real Ultimate Power" which has the best footnotes since Dave Eggers. I read it aloud to my brother for an hour straight. During the holidays someone tried to tempt me to trade it for Strong Bad's first 100 emails on DVD. But that was BULLCRAP. Thanks!

Josh, it's on the way. And it's well worth the wait. It took a while for them to locate it in stock and send it... And then, I'm just lazy. But, trust me. You will be pleased. Or... you're gay.
courtney [email] said at 12:58 AM 01-04-2006:
Rock. Glad the book provided you with an hour (at least) of enjoyment. Have you checked the Real Ultimate Power website? It's pretty sweet.
brandon [email] said at 3:51 AM 01-04-2006:
No, it was great. I really appreciated it. I was in a bad mood that day when it came in but the gift turned it around.

I crap my pants every time I see that site.

In 2001 or 2002 someone introduced me to that site around the same time that I found Mark Leyner's stuff, and somehow they came together to amuse me without end. That's why I kind of thought the gift was from someone who knew me since I still quote it in daily conversation. I'm that lame.

i tommy knocked mary with her jauns last night.

Clearly you are a ninja motherfucker.

Thank you! I will post a pic of your gift later.

speaking of doing people right. let me just say kara, your gift was amazing! i was racking my brain just trying to wrap my mind around figuring out who could blow my mind like that. congratulations, you did it.
art [email] said at 3:45 PM 01-03-2006:
Courtney - The super awesome idea I had for a SS gift for you officially fell thru just moments ago when a certain band's management-type person dropped the ball. Backup plan is being initiated. Perhaps this other thing will come thru anyways sometime and you will get a surprise gift down the road
meredith [email] said at 4:10 PM 01-03-2006:
Art, your present is one of the ones that will be late. I switched you to Andrew at the last second because I never once heard from the person who was drawn to be your santa other than the e-mail they sent saying that they wanted to participate. Thus it is not Andrew's fault. It is the fault of fate.
meredith [email] said at 4:00 PM 01-03-2006:
I made xmx a sparkly red scarf. But I don't think she liked it. Because she never spoke to me again after recieving it. I have failed as a Santa.
meredith [email] said at 4:05 PM 01-03-2006:
Nevermind! I didn't see this until just now! I am not a failure! Hooray!!
pokey [email] said at 10:34 PM 01-06-2006:
Reading this makes me suddenly feel nervous regarding my santee!

Amy I hope my gift didn't kill you!
amy [email] said at 11:54 PM 01-06-2006:
i guffawed actually. i waited 2 whole weeks before i couldn't wait any longer to open the italian delicacy. then i made dinner with it. delicious! the oil smelled yummy but unfortunately most of it had dumped out. flannery poured the rest around the house which smelled wonderful. i washed the bottle out and it is now among my treasures near the bonsai and sugarcane in the kitchen window. flan uses the santa box to put her jewelry in.

i was quite pleased, i was gonna take a picture but my computer with the cam hookup is in repairs.

i too loves me some pokey.

milky [email] said at 10:32 PM 01-03-2006:
Talice, I know what all of your gifts are and what they are for, except ONE. It is a piece you made, and the comments range from incense burner to toothbrush holder. I think it's neat.
pokey [email] said at 9:40 AM 01-04-2006:
Jeff, thank you so much for Blood!

It fits right in my pocket, and is full of facts, quotes, and pictures of Blood!

Now that taking blood out of people is such a large part of my daily life, your gift is especially relevant! Thank you :D

milky [email] said at 10:53 PM 01-06-2006:
You are quite welcome, Pokey. I wanted to send you something perfect...and the limited number, artist, and size were factors.

And I really love ya Pokey.
talice [email] said at 10:28 PM 01-06-2006:
the use of it. . . is to look at it. hold it. but anything other use you get out of it is fine too! btw, i "assembled" the cup too.
milky [email] said at 10:56 PM 01-06-2006:
It is a fine cup you have assembled, which hold the coffee I now drink (I didn't do so any more than a few times a year before I started my job) at my job.

The object, it stays with me, atop an ash, custom rolltop desk. At work, I fear something will hurt it.
cam [email] said at 9:18 PM 01-05-2006:
thank you sooo much julie!!!

wade, threadless.com said it was going to take up to two weeks, that was 12/21. i hope it comes soon.
atchafalaya said at 12:05 PM 01-06-2006:
Cam, I got it and it's awesome and I am still wearing it after 3 days straight. Great choice! Thanks so much!

I must send a thank you to Shell for sending me an appreciation present for the second year in a row! The Serenity t-shirt is awesome! It's nice and big and I will wear it when I watch my Firefly DVDs and also when I mock Josh. I appreciate that you appreciate. :-)
