The trash you see in the first pic is all the stuff we brought to the curb the day Josh and I helped ben move out. The pic below is what the pile looked like after moving josh out and bringing everything else in the house to the curb.

basement

josh's room

josh's stuff

ben's bathtub

ben's filthy toilet

Sorry it took so long with this. I wasn't able to get online at my new place until last Thursday. More later -- I need sleep.
Bendependent [email] said at 4:12 AM 12-20-2005:
i sure am gonna miss that bathtub & toilet...
Bendependent [email] said at 4:20 AM 12-20-2005:
kind of hard to believe this is the first goodbye dirtfarm post - post dirtfarm.

i got a bunch of pictures too and a video of sonny destroying a shelf in 30 seconds which is kind of amazing that i'll try to upload later.

been meaning to write a 5000 word essay on the dirtfarm. hopefully it'll happen before the end of the year...
josh [email] said at 10:10 AM 12-20-2005:
thanks again for helping me move all my shit! also for posting this.
boudet [email] said at 12:10 PM 12-20-2005:
maybe yall shoulda just burned that place down...

it is a shame to let something so treasured fall into another's posession who might not be so appreciative of its majic. i agree they should burn it down, and still can.

i'll give you a dollar if you do it.

I was only there for one good party, and although the mud and gore and blood and ass moved me deeply, I never developed or sustained the kind of attachment to the place that would compel me to light it up in order to prevent another from savoring the sanguine sweetness of outlook and magical mojo that the dirt farm habitat fosters.

Rick would do it though. He’s unstable. Brad might too.

I'll post about some fond/amusing Dirtfarm rememberances later. This is also an invitation for anyone else to post their own anecdotes about things they remember. And yeah, Ben, you really should post about Beecher coming by to show the place.
huddo [email] said at 12:54 PM 12-20-2005:
I've been waiting for this post. Cuz i have a few dirtfarm pix from the past few years that i have wanted to post. i'm sure there are many other great pix out there that would help with this memorial. share. share.

They should have come with captions.

1.The day me and Erica got really loopy (and tipsy?) and danced to Madonna in Ben's room.

2.Lots and lots of trampoline hangin'. I am so GONNA miss that.

3.September '02. I had so much fun at the Dirtfarm during this month, particularly the weekend of SPX.

4.This was also when Luster came to visit and I met him. Fond memories of this time, just hangin' and going to eat and being silly.

5.Me and Angie having Thanksgiving at the DF. I think this is the first time I ate seitan.

6.Sonny wrestling people in the back yard.

7.Working on the posters for Viva Vavoom #1. This was fun.

8.Lots of party adventure. Getting tipsy and acting a fool.

9.That damned Master P doll that was always around.
kara [email] said at 2:57 PM 12-20-2005:
sometimes the little voice of that doll (as quoted by ben) just rings in my head

Things that stand out in my mind:

- The snake in the organ
- The enormous mess after July 2004
- Playing games and getting drunk during the blizzard
- A coworker getting drunk and inviting herself to go back home with us (me), 2 weeks after I moved in.
- Scott hiding the Cokes from Ben
- My last birthday party, when all of my friends made sure I got good and drunk!
- Watching ridiculous videos with Josh.
- Sonny bringing home a carload of bowling trophies and smashing them for the fun of it.
- Sonny putting a hole in his own wall.
- Sonny's collection of Herb Alpert records (very odd)
- Sonny flooding the basement, because he didn't know how to do laundry
- Sonny's existence
- Our asshole neighbor who was responsible for my car being impounded. That was a fun day, let me tell you.
- Angele and the countless times she lost her car keys. And the time Ben found them the first place he looked.
- My first Thanksgiving at The Dirtfarm, when Ben was bitter and sullen.
- Aquire!
- Angie C. doing her Kenny Rogers charade, the first time we played the "Celebrity" game
- Sloppy, drunken make-outs at parties
- Kara's cupcake icing, permanently affixed to our kitchen ceiling
- Josh's zombie titties birthday cake
- Kara's shellacked pizza table gift to Ben.
- Carla. You zany girl.
- Jason's visits. Few and far between, but always fun.

There are probably some very obvious things I haven't named yet. I'll rack my brain again later.
carla [email] said at 3:16 PM 12-20-2005:

Uhh...yeah. Yeah.

I have this memory of Brad doing a puppet show with that creepy condor puppet and the punching nun. Anyway, it was really funny. Why were we doing puppet shows anyway?
kara [email] said at 3:26 PM 12-20-2005:
I already made my list in some other josh post.

plus.. basically half of my entries on killoggs are about some dirtfarm thing of another
brad [email] said at 3:40 PM 12-20-2005:

few of my favorite memories are from parties..
      - the roller coaster couch
      - the night y'all met sonny... I took you over to Ericas house so we could play Tims vectrex.. sonny started hanging out then:
      - smashing stuff behind atomic
      - many mornings at IHOP.. the fighting waiter
      - many nights at barnside
      - waking up on the couch for what seemed like every weekend of 2002.. especially when I was unemployed
      - sitting around with Ben, coming up with ideas for hours
      - "the angry mob"
      - "TITS"
      - the herb alpert record
      - cricket visiting town.. dancing in the living room, getting sick as shit the next day
      - summer nights on the trampoline, particularly the night me, carla, erica ended up hanging out with david, daniel and dustin (plus josh)
      - making food at parties... those cupcakes, always the cupcakes and yuengling
      - "I havent got time for the pain"
      - the night of conversations about everything.. siamese cooze, monkey hand jobs, dead skinned deer, banana masturbation.. hours of pure gold
      - many trips to tic toc.. many trips to 7-11

pretty much, my social life as I know it all began with meeting Ben and Angele, and having a group of friends and a place that felt like a second home to me

I'm glad you got that picture of Sonny kickin the crap out of me. I'm MORE glad that you don't have a picture of the atomic wedgie that was a result of that classic bout!

the first and only time i came to a dirtfarm party, i walked down the hall only to witness josh taking a shower with some other people. there was a hotsauce problem needed taking care of. then there were all these weird pills all over the place... and some girl called me a dyke when i tried to get in the pool. and my friend cried when she saw all the sexy in the moonbounce.
josh [email] said at 5:46 PM 12-20-2005:
news flash: joe mitra pitched an idea to me yesterday... "what if" we could find a relatively isolated field somewhere to have a 2006 "dirtfarm" party?

i would be into organizing this.
kara [email] said at 6:22 PM 12-20-2005:
OK time for me to make this post even more cumbersome.

Yeah, I should have given credit to Ben for all those pictures.

Also, I forgot about that picture of me with my tongue out- that was when I was trying to work some blonde in my hair. It looks cuter than I remember. I think that was for Brad and Sonny's birthday celebration '03.

I remember fondly sitting in the truck-bed pool- it was so relaxed and warm and boson-y.

And this, I meant to share this picture a long time ago!

What about the party with the record massacre? I have a video of it here but the lighting sucks.

Um, I deffinatly won't be forgetting about that trampoline ever - that trampoline was like spanish fly.

Watermelons on my head, noodle wrestling, mud wrestling, injuries... theres a lot of stuff that i associate with the dirtfarm, and a handful of memories I'll be tellin' my grandkids about. [And a handful I won't ever tell a child in fear of scarring them.]

It'll be so missed!
Bendependent [email] said at 9:01 PM 12-22-2005:

Josh with Uno cards, Carla looking hawtter than humans should be allowed to look, Ben in the catching position (airborne gives an extra 2 points for degree of difficulty), and a singing viking.

This is everything I sigh about when I wistfully think of how I never made it to the DF.
