Killoggs Secret Santa 2005

Sorry I'm on the front page twice today, but as I was creating my rant about the Saints, Josh IMed me to ask if I would organize Secret Santa again this year. So I figured I should make an official post to see if people are interested.

If you're interested please respond, if not enough people do it... then it's just not fun.

So the following are the rules pasted from what I wrote last year. They seemed to work fairly well. I've only added one.

Official Killoggs Secret Santa Rules and Regulations

1. Everyone wishing to play must have their info e-mailed to Meredith's head by no later than November 30th. You shall receive a confimation e-mail stating that your information has been recieved. If you receive no such e-mail, realize that there is a possiblity that your information has NOT in fact been received.

2. Non-heads that are personally known by a 'headed' person may participate. If you specifically do NOT wish to give/recieve a gift from a non-head, include this with your information, it shall be kept confidential.

3. All gifts are to be kept below or in the neighborhood of $10 US dollars.

4. If you wish, you may include a helpful wishlist or a list of personal interests to help your secret santa choose a gift that you will not hate. You may also include limitations, i.e. - no candy or no wet things that do not belong to me, as some people have done.

5. Once assignments have been made, please make every effort to send your gift off before the beginning of the New Year in order to ensure that Killoggs doesn't have that one kid left standing without a gift at the end of the class Christmas party because their secret santa was lame and lazy.

6. If you participated last year and never gave a gift to your person you are banned from participating again. If you wish to appeal this decision, you may put in a request and it will be reviewed by the KSS court of law and the person you gyped last year.

Any further points or questions, please post them here or e-mail me!

Yaaaay! Christmas!!!

I would like to play this year.
jess [email] said at 12:31 PM 11-07-2005:
Sure.
meredith [email] said at 12:46 PM 11-07-2005:
Ed is also playing. And I'm assuming Josh. And me. So that makes six so far.
craig [email] said at 12:53 PM 11-07-2005:
I k-mailed my information to you.
meredith [email] said at 1:05 PM 11-07-2005:
I got it! Hey, how about we organize some South Louisiana meet up on like December 23rd or 24th?
craig [email] said at 1:36 PM 11-07-2005:
That sounds good, tentatively. I will be making my plans in the next week or so. We can post to the front page when it gets closer. We can see if peeps want to meet up at Cafe Dumonde as originally planned or somewhere else.

Is the curfew still in effect?
meredith [email] said at 1:39 PM 11-07-2005:
I'm not sure. I didn't even know about the curfew until Emily's last post.

I fly in the 23rd, so that would have to be a nighttime thing if we did that. And the 24th is Christmas Eve, so probably a day thing. And we fly out the 27th. (Just some info for you to think about when you're making your plans.)

i'm in too. and this year i promise no late beer!
meredith [email] said at 1:29 PM 11-07-2005:
This is shaping up. I got Jess's info. I would prefer for you guys to e-mail my head instead of K-mailing me just so I can keep it all in one place. And please remember to include your address. I know some of you have it in your profile, but to be honest, I don't feel like doing the digging.

Also, if you got gyped last year, do let me know and I'll make sure you get a good person this year.
boson [email] said at 1:38 PM 11-07-2005:
I'll be down if that's cool

milky [email] said at 3:46 PM 11-07-2005:
I'm in.
meredith [email] said at 3:49 PM 11-07-2005:
Yay! This is going to be fun again this year! Everyone e-mail your addys to my head when you get a chance.

I think we have like sixteen people already.
milky [email] said at 10:02 PM 11-07-2005:
    it's in the members' profile.
meredith [email] said at 10:31 PM 11-07-2005:
Would you mind e-mailing it to my head anyway? It would make things a lot easier for me when the matching happens for it all to be in just one place so I don't have to go digging through lots of profiles. I'm not trying to be annoying, but this Secret Santa organization actually takes a lot of time.

Man, you people who gyped your santees last year, the Kaiser is glaring at you right now. That's right. Feel the shame of the Kaiser glare.
bibblyclaus said at 4:48 PM 11-07-2005:
Bibblyclaus didn't gyp shit. Biblyclaus went above and beyond the call of duty. Just ask Kate.

Oh I know. I wasn't talking to you. I was just generally shouting out to the gypers. I'm going to do my best to pair the ones who got gyped with people like you this year, bibblyclause.

i'm in too! i just sent you my address. and i give good presents too!!!!
ed [email] said at 7:33 PM 11-07-2005:
I don't wanna jinx anything, but having someone in Japan be my SS is like a Brandon/Amanda/Kara/Sonny wet-dream for me.
kaycee [email] said at 7:35 PM 11-07-2005:
ha hah hah... the problem is figuring out what people want.. there is too much cool shit over here... last year i didn't even buy any japanese stuff because i couldn;t decide
kara [email] said at 10:58 AM 11-08-2005:
      huh
ed [email] said at 12:57 PM 11-08-2005:
Sex and violence are personified in that combination of Killoggs genetic building blocks.
meredith [email] said at 1:03 PM 11-08-2005:
I try to keep the drawings mostly random. This year I AM going to try and make sure that people who got gyped last year get someone with a good track record, but other than that, fairly random. ;-) Now you can be suprised!
woody [email] said at 11:21 AM 11-17-2005:
I can vouch for this. Kaycee sent me presents when I wasn't even playing the Santa game!
brandon [email] said at 8:01 PM 11-07-2005:
No, thanks, I'd be too tempted to send someone a box of cat-shit. And vice versa, I'm sure.
brandon [email] said at 10:06 PM 11-07-2005:
You know, on second thought, I'll throw in. Match me with someone interesting. No cat-shit, I swear.
myriam [email] said at 10:15 PM 11-07-2005:
    hehe, this should be interesting.
brandon [email] said at 10:28 PM 11-07-2005:
No, interesting would be you oiled down in black face while reciting Blake's "Little Blake Boy" in a little girl voice.

I'm just talking about the exchange of inexpensive yet throughtful gifts.
meredith [email] said at 10:36 PM 11-07-2005:
Seriously, guys, please e-mail the head. Not k-mail. It would really help me to have all of this in one place. Thanks! - Kaiser Santa
kaycee [email] said at 11:27 PM 11-07-2005:
did i email to your head?
    hah hah, that's funny.

if i didn't, i'll resend so as not to hassle you.
meredith [email] said at 10:32 AM 11-08-2005:
You k-mailed. It would be great if you would resend to my head because yours contained a lot of good info for the Kaiser to have.
josh [email] said at 10:46 AM 11-08-2005:
would it be useful if kmail had a "forward this to my email" button?
kaycee [email] said at 10:58 AM 11-08-2005:
i guess a forward button would be useful becaus ei am too stupid to know the difference between head mail and kmail... plus i cant remember everything i wrote!
          i'll try again!
ed [email] said at 11:25 AM 11-08-2005:
KMail is the thingy up in the left-side box near the top of the screen. Emailing one's head entails clicking on the envelope under their name (in a post by them).
meredith [email] said at 11:48 AM 11-08-2005:
Yes it would, because then it wouldn't matter if people kmailed me. I could just forward the KSS stuff to my e-mail.
talice [email] said at 2:22 AM 11-08-2005:
i'm in
kara [email] said at 10:59 AM 11-08-2005:
wait I think I might do this so um what do I have to do.
josh [email] said at 10:10 AM 11-17-2005:
UPDATE! I never got an email, was one sent out?
meredith [email] said at 11:12 AM 11-17-2005:
November 17th Update:
The following people have expressed interest in participating in KSS2005 AND have e-mailed my head with their information and recieved a confirmation: Ed, Cam, Courtney, Kara, Milky, Bibbly, Mary, Kaycee, Talice, BrandonA, Brandon, Talice, Andrew, Wade, Shell those people don't have to do anything more unless they feel like sending gift ideas, preferences to not recieve gifts from non-heads, etc. etc.

The following people have expressed interest and KMAILED instead of e-mailing my head: Craig, Jess, Josh. I think I may have originally given the impression that this was fine, but really it would help me out A LOT in organizing things if I could have all of these in one place. Josh still has not added the 'forward to my mail' button to Kmail, so at the moment, those are just sitting in there.

And finally, the following people have expressed interest in the above responses, but thus far have done nothing: Myriam, Brian, Boson, Abby, Dave and Art.

I will be doing the random drawing on the 30th of November, which is also when e-mails will go out telling you who you will be giving to this year.
josh [email] said at 11:18 AM 11-17-2005:
(11:19:35) Boson: I don't understand how to email instead of kmail
(11:21:18) josh: you click the envelope drawing underneath the persons' head
(11:21:38) josh: or you click [email] after their name
kara [email] said at 11:26 AM 11-17-2005:
wow this was necessary to post as an IM, it really helps clarify the issue
josh [email] said at 11:31 AM 11-17-2005:
it helps people who dont know how to email someone, since i have had 4 different people IM me about this so far today
cecil [email] said at 3:08 PM 11-17-2005:
ok, I will this year.
atchafalaya said at 2:07 PM 01-02-2006:
