jeff [email] said at 1:01 AM 08-09-2005: NASA's really getting weird. I've been following STS-114 and the mission dialogue is more relaxed than ever.
The title to this post was in response to an astronaut having connected a module to the ISS, followed by, "Houston, how do you like them apples?"
And in an article on cnn.com about the delayed landing:
Alternative sites have been prepared at Edwards Air Force Base, California, and White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. "We'll land somewhere," said mission controller LeRoy Cain.
Apparently the Discovery made its first Podcast as well.
myriam [email] said at 2:21 AM 08-09-2005: Edwards Air Force base!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S RIGHT NEXT TO MY PARENTS' HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW TOTALLY RAD, it would be so awesome if it landed there!!!!
myriam [email] said at 6:40 AM 08-09-2005: ohhhhh, apparently that's a *different* air force base in California, with the same name. hmmm. well it's still cool anyway. even if my parents won't have a shuttle screaming over their heads.
jeff [email] said at 2:17 AM 08-09-2005: Philadelphia's virgin territory for me. If any of y'all know of someone or someones I should hook up with on Tuesday/Wednesday evening, k-mail me some digits. No gimps.
jeff [email] said at 12:18 PM 08-09-2005: Woah, that does sound bad when you read it like that. You know what I meant, bro. I've never been there before and don't know where to go. So if any guys or gals are in the area that can show me around, that would be k-rad.
