what the shit is this? am i not allowed to post a simple 'haha' to express my amusement at another's post more than once?? why is my freedom of killoggs speech being restricted??? has it always been this way????
meredith [email] said at 3:24 PM 03-08-2005: It's been that way for a while. It's another of Josh's ways to keep us under control. (I think there was an incident where someone posted the same response over and over to be annoying or something.)
However, had you added ONE MORE ha! to your thingy, it would have gone through!!
christian [email] said at 3:27 PM 03-08-2005: but it didnt warrant a third 'ha'. 'haha' is like yeah thats funny, i smiled; 'hahaha' is like ok that made me laugh some
meredith [email] said at 3:29 PM 03-08-2005: Could you have perhaps punctuated your hahas? Perhaps thrown a space in between them? Or end with a period? Or an exclamation point or ellipse?
christian [email] said at 3:33 PM 03-08-2005: ah thats actually a good idea because everyone hates double-posts. but yeah i havnet posted a 'haha' anywhere else today i dont think
christian [email] said at 4:50 PM 03-08-2005: it is a good idea though. a check where if a sql statement like "SELECT * FROM messages_table WHERE poster_id=$poster_id AND NOW() - $post_time < '5 minutes' AND body='$body'" returns any results it keeps you from posting. that sql is crude but i think it would almost work in postgresql
josh [email] said at 4:57 PM 03-08-2005: thats almost exactly what i did actually, except i didnt do it by poster... maybe ill just add the poster name in there and that would work well enough
